How to Find Ulrask Boss in Avowed

Initially, gamers come across the enormous ogre named Ulrask during the optional mission called “Steel Resolve” within Avowed. On your journey towards the Fior Southern Gate Beacon, you’ll cross paths with Ranger Dorso. If you inquire about Ranger Monato from her, she will task you to investigate in the Ogre’s Cave. Consequently, upon reaching the cave, players engage in a fight against Ulrask before discovering hints regarding the missing ranger.

If you haven’t finished Steel Resolve before reaching a certain stage in Emerald Stair, it’s still possible for you to encounter Ulrask. This fearsome ogre resides in the ominous Grim Wetlands, positioned northwest of the Sunken Village. Players can locate his lair by venturing into a dimly lit cave situated at the edge of this area. This cave offers treasures and leads directly to the domain of Ulrask.

How to Beat Ulrask the Giant Ogre

Upon venturing into Ulrask’s Lair, it’s advisable for players to initially creep forward and stealthily move towards the boss when his back is facing away. Once you’re close enough, consider employing a sneak attack to deal a substantial amount of damage before the main battle commences.

Ulrask will employ three primary strategies during combat against the players, as detailed below for each method:

1. The first strategy is the “Power Strike”: This attack involves a powerful blow that can deal significant damage to the player’s health. Be prepared for its impact and make sure to dodge or block it when possible.

2. The second strategy is the “Energy Drain”: Ulrask can siphon energy from players, draining their resources and potentially leaving them vulnerable. Keep an eye on your energy levels and conserve as much as you can while facing this attack.

3. Lastly, Ulrask employs a stealthy tactic called “Shadow Escape”: This move allows him to disappear and reappear at different locations, making it difficult for players to predict his movements. Stay alert and be ready to react quickly when he reappears to avoid getting caught off guard.

• Ground Smash (Single/Multiple): Ulrask will hold its club, raise it over its head and land a devastating strike on either the player or their companions. Enraged Ulrask can also start pummeling the ground with this attack multiple times. This strike deals high damage, so dodging sideways is your best bet.
• Club Swing: Ulrask will lunch at the player or companion and swing its club from left to right. This attack should be blocked as dodging it may get you hit regardless.
• Poisonous Spit: The boss will cover its mouth and then launch a projectile at the player, inflicting the poison status effect. Dodging helps you avoid getting hit with it.

As a devoted admirer, I’d say the wisest approach when facing Ulrask is to initially freeze it using a spell or freeze bombs at your disposal. Once frozen solid, take advantage of the situation and start attacking it. Be cautious though, as soon as it thaws, Ulrask will retaliate with its club. To minimize damage, aim to deflect this attack, which should provide you with an ample opportunity for a powerful counter-strike.

In the upcoming battle, you’ll find Skeleton Minions and Shadows filling up the arena. It would be wise to tackle them first before confronting Ulrask again. Once Ulrask is defeated, search the cave for loot. You’ll find useful crafting materials from Ulrask, including some unique items.
