Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Stealing Rules Will Leave You Confused and Frustrated!

In a straightforward and conversational manner: Players are still puzzled by the inconsistencies in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s rule system about stealing, despite the game providing a highly immersive experience that has been enjoyed for several weeks now.

If you’ve played Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 for an extended period, you’ve likely encountered the peculiar regulations about what constitutes stealing and what doesn’t, which can sometimes be tricky to navigate. The laws regarding trespassing can also be puzzling, depending on the situation, as figuring out where it’s acceptable to sleep at times can feel like navigating a maze.

For instance, during one game session, upon departing from the kind herbalist to find her child, we later returned to her cabin to rest, but were confronted for entering without permission when she spotted us. Previously a figure who tended to our wounds and allowed us to stay in her bed for multiple nights was now warning to alert the authorities for the same action.

Don’t touch the food!

In another instance, a dance troupe invited us to spend the night by their campfire, which we accepted. We exchanged friendly greetings with them and they welcomed us to sleep in a tent nearby. A delicious stew was simmering in a pot over the fire, but as soon as we tried some, the entire camp became enraged.

In our effort to reconcile, it seemed futile as tensions escalated; matters grew even more hostile when our pet attacked one of the performers while protecting us. We fled into the darkness but upon reaching a town, word of our actions had already reached them, and the guards stood ready with swords drawn against us.

Henry, our confused protagonist, met an untimely end after swallowing that bite of stew, unfortunately. Thankfully, we had a save point right before the chaos ensued, but the experience was unforgettable. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is brimming with such instances, as you can see how things spiraled out of control for Asmongold when he inadvertently clicked the wrong button, leading to the accidental killing of an NPC in broad daylight before a whole town.

Trespassing and stealing

These amusing instances can sometimes turn sour and spoil the engaging experience of an otherwise superb game for certain players. One Reddit user highlighted that following the Roma questline’s conclusion, they received an invitation to join the camp as a brother. However, during the campfire celebration, even when trying to partake in the shared meal, they were falsely accused of theft.

They mentioned, “This bothers me. Despite becoming a ‘gajo-brother’ and a protector of the Roma community, I am always welcomed within their camp. Yet, during mealtime, I’m not allowed to touch that communal pot.

The other player found the mechanic quite bothersome, expressing their frustration as follows: “This element really grated on me. For instance, I went out of my way to aid significantly, yet I wasn’t rewarded with food. And to top it off, if I accidentally slept in the wrong bed, guards were immediately summoned without even a polite request for me to move to my own space. This is particularly nonsensical in this camp and at these inns.

Some individuals shared experiences of unusual incidents involving the security or property violation system. For instance, one individual mentioned, “The Miskowich Inn’s bed is located in a restricted zone. So I went to sleep, in the correct bed, and during the night, a guard threatened to arrest me.

Instead of sharing amusing anecdotes such as, “I mistakenly consumed food from the kitchen at the wedding reception and was brutally punished”, or “After spending the night with one of the game’s romantic characters, I was confronted as an intruder the following morning”.

At the wedding, some people told funny stories like, “I mistakenly ate from the buffet and was severely reprimanded”, or “After spending the night with one of the game’s love interests, I was accused of trespassing in the morning”.

Some players believe that Warhorse Studios might adjust the challenging and occasionally peculiar stealing and trespassing mechanics in their game. On the other hand, some might counter that elements like these, which can be strange or quirky, are what make Kingdom Come: Deliverance charming and unique, much like games such as Skyrim.
