Despite its surface resemblance to the Wildspire Wastes in MH World, the lightning-filled sandstorms set it apart. These storms signify the advent of the ecosystem’s apex monster, the Rey Dau, known for its powerful lightning attacks that keep hunters on high alert. Given the Rey Dau’s lightning-based abilities and the Kirin’s own electric attacks, the Windward Plains appear to be an ideal setting for introducing the Kirin, as it could thrive in a stormy environment such as this.

Presenting the mythical creature known as the Kirin, taking over the domain of Rey Dau could be an effective method to demonstrate its dominance. Introducing the Kirin into the Windward Plains might pose an issue because this monster is rarely spotted in desert landscapes; however, previous desert ecosystems in other titles didn’t feature frequent thunderstorms. This could potentially explain why the Kirin might be attracted to this location initially, and some adjustments could make it more engaging for combat. The Kirin could serve as a unique hunting challenge in MH Wilds, given its iconic armor design that has remained largely unchanged since its debut, making it almost essential to incorporate it into the game.

It’s intriguing to speculate which Elder Dragons might show up in Monster Hunter Wilds, given that these games are known for their impressive late-game content. It’s certain that there will be some fresh Elder Dragons, but with the Gore Magala being announced, it’s likely that many familiar Elder Dragons will also appear. Although the Kirin might not debut in Wilds‘ initial game, an expansion could potentially introduce it. The Kirin is a monster that seems almost destined to appear in a main Monster Hunter game due to its enduring popularity and iconic status.
