Totodile is returning to Pokémon GO with March’s Community Day Classic.
During the upcoming special event for Pokémon GO players, it’s Totodile who will be in the spotlight! This Community Day Classic offers trainers a unique opportunity to catch a rare Shiny Totodile. Additionally, if you manage to evolve your caught Totodile into Feraligatr during this event, it will learn an exclusive move called Hydro Cannon.
On Saturday, March 22nd, the Totodile Community Day Classic will run from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in your local time zone.
Opting for Totodile as the next Pokémon GO Community Day Classic pick has garnered widespread approval. Feraligatr stands out as a top-tier Pokémon, with the regular version ranked at number 8 and its shadow counterpart at number 5 in the Great League. The trend continues even more favorably in the Ultra League, where Feraligatr ranks at number 7, while its Shadow form reaches the second position.
With the help of the Community Day Classic, you can discover optimal PvP Individual Values (IVs), earn candies, and acquire the essential move called Hydro Cannon, which is crucial for competitive PvP play.
This is a great chance to meet up with your friends and play some Pokémon GO.
Totodile Pokémon GO Community Day Classic bonuses

- 1/4 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event.

At the event periods, you’re likely to encounter Totodile more often in the wild. Additionally, your chances of capturing a Shiny Totodile will be higher during these times.
During the Pokémon GO Community Day Classic event, if you evolve your Croconaw from Totodile, it will know the powerful Water-type move, Hydro Cannon. However, if your existing Totodile doesn’t already have this skill, it can only acquire it by using an Elite Technical Machine (TM).

The chances of discovering a glossy Totodile are approximately 4% during the Totodile Pokemon GO Community Day Classic.

This table displays the highest Combat Power (CP) a Totodile can have at every level it can be found. In the wild, a Totodile can range from Level 1 to Level 30, and during Rainy weather, it can be anywhere from Level 6 to Level 35. A Totodile with the highest possible CP value would be a Pokémon with perfect Individual Values (IVs).

Feraligatr Best Pokémon GO Moveset
During the Totodile Community Day Classic event, trainers will have another opportunity to acquire Hydro Cannon as a charged attack for Feraligatr. Having Hydro Cannon significantly enhances Feraligatr’s capabilities in Player vs Player (PvP) battles, so this is an excellent chance for you to avoid using an Elite Technical Machine (TM).
The best moveset for Feraligatr is:
- Shadow Claw

- Ice Beam
Totodile Community Day Classic: Pokémon GO Tips and Tricks
As a dedicated gamer in Pokémon GO, I was bummed to learn that there won’t be any XP or Stardust bonuses during Totodile Community Day. But hey, let’s not forget the charm of catching Totodile – it’s a much-coveted Pokémon! So, even without the usual perks, this Community Day is still an exciting event.
If you’re looking to boost your Stardust stash, here’s a tip: Use a Star Piece and hatch 10 or 12 km Eggs. The good news is, the distance needed for egg hatching reduces to 1/4 during this time, making it more profitable than usual!
Additionally, I regret to inform you that there won’t be any Candy bonuses for capturing Pokémon during this event. But don’t worry, you can still acquire extra Candy, Candy XL and XP by using a Mega Level 3 Mega Pokémon with a Water-type.
Here are the Pokémon you can Mega Evolve to get extra Candy, Candy XL and XP for catching Totodile:
- Blastoise
- Slowbro
- Gyarados
- Swampert
- Kyogre
Don’t forget some other easy tips:
- Don’t catch Pokémon before the event starts. These Pokémon can turn into Totodile.
- Spin as many Pokéstops as possible, to get event specific Field Research as well as extra resources.
- Don’t activate Lures’ or Incense till the event starts to get the extra time.
