Invoker changes complete in Dota 2 – New Facets, attributes and improved abilities
Are these changes enough to get you back to playing Invoker in Dota 2?
The update for Dota 2 version 7.38 introduces significant alterations to the game. The map has been overhauled entirely, and there are fresh neutral creeps and mechanisms in place. Furthermore, almost every hero in the game undergoes multiple adjustments. Among these changes, Invoker, the magic-wielding character, stands out with new aspects, modifications to his statistics, and more. Here’s a rundown of what’s new for Invoker.
Invoker changes in 7.38 Dota 2 Update
- Invoker is now an Intelligence Hero
- Base Health Regen decreased from 0.5 to 0.25
- Base Damage increased by 12-10
- Base Intelligence increased from 19 to 20
- Damage at level 1 decreased by 4-6 (from 39-47 to 35-41)
- Strength gain decreased from 2.6 to 2.5
- Agility gain increased from 1.8 to 2
- Intelligence gain increased from 4.0 to 4.7
- Damage gain per level decreased from +5.9 to +4.7
- Damage at level 30 decreased by 46 (from 224-232 to 180-186)
- Removed Mastermind ability
- Now Invoke is classified as Invoker’s only innate ability
- Removed Agnostic and Elitist Facets
- Added three orb-centered facets. Each provides an extra level for the specific orb, permanently improves an ability, and sets their own Aghanim’s Scepter and Shard upgrades
- Aghanim’s Scepter still provides +1 level to all orbs, but also provides an additional level to the orb of the chosen facet, allowing it to reach max level of 10
The hero experiences a substantial boost in intelligence. Additionally, old aspects of the hero are replaced by new ones, while some original abilities are enhanced. Each new aspect revolves around one of the three orbs, offering an additional level for the corresponding orb, an upgrade to existing skills, and personal enhancements for the Scepter and Shard. There’s a lot to explore with these new aspects.
Invoker Facets in Dota 2 7.38
In the latest Dota 2 Patch version 7.38, Invoker gains three new features. Each feature enhances a specific orb, both the orb itself and certain abilities that rely on it. Let me elaborate on these three features and their corresponding enhancements:
1. The first facet amplifies the orb’s self-buffing capabilities as well as its contribution to abilities like Tornado and Cold Snap.
2. The second facet focuses on boosting the orb’s impact on abilities such as Alacrity and EMP, while also improving its self-buffing properties.
3. Lastly, the third facet enhances the orb’s role in abilities like Ghost Walk and Sunstrike, and strengthens its self-buffing effect.

Each twister lasts for the duration of Tornado, and persists for 4 additional seconds after the tornado is destroyed, dealing 120 damage per second in a 150 radius. Twisters have ground vision in a 50 radius around them. Damage interval: 0.25s. Damage from multiple twisters stack. Twisters deal half damage to creeps

Talent Changes to Invoker in 7.38 Dota 2
In Dota 2, the Invoker character experienced two talent modifications:
1. The cool-down time of Sunstrike, an ability primarily used by Intelligence heroes, has been reduced by 4 seconds. This adjustment will increase the hero’s global activity and versatility.
2. At level 25, a new talent has been introduced that guarantees that the 2x Quas/Wex/Exort Active bonuses are now universal for all aspects (facets) of the character.
The modifications in the character of Invoker aim to boost its popularity, as this powerful hero had previously reigned supreme. With a broad range of skills and multiple play styles, it’s typically one of the most challenging heroes to strike a balance with. Different eras of Invoker have emerged, such as those where Quas Wex was predominant and others where Exort is the preferred build. It will be fascinating to observe how professionals adapt to these new adjustments and witness the evolution of the meta.
