Elden Ring Nightreign May Offer Players a Second Chance With New Network Test

Summary

  • FromSoftware may hold a second Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test after major server issues plagued the first one.
  • Players and content creators were largely unable to explore Elden Ring Nightreign’s new content during the first Network Test.
  • An additional Network Test for Elden Ring Nightreign could go a long way to alleviating the community’s complaints.

FromSoftware is considering another round of beta testing for Elden Ring Nightreign, following a problematic initial attempt. A significant number of players were unable to participate in the first Elden Ring Nightreign beta test due to server problems, leading FromSoftware to contemplate holding a second one to rectify the bumpy launch.

Slated for release on May 30, the multiplayer spin-off titled “Elden Ring Nightreign” is a collaborative effort by FromSoftware following the massive success of their game “Elden Ring“. Similar to contemporary titles from FromSoftware, “Elden Ring Nightreign” recently conducted a closed online trial intended to give a select group of players access to a small part of the new content. However, when the “Elden Ring Nightreign” online test began, players encountered significant login problems. Many were unable to connect at all, while others were kicked out of the game after failing to find compatible players.

Even those who managed to log in often couldn’t progress past the hub area, preventing them from engaging with enemies or checking out Elden Ring Nightreign‘s new mechanics. PS5 players were hit the hardest, but Xbox and PC users also had their fair share of issues. Notable content creators who planned to stream the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test live found themselves staring at error messages more often than gameplay. The only new content that could be explored was the updated Roundtable Hold, leaving most players unable to experience the true depth of Elden Ring Nightreign.

FromSoftware May Hold Another Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test

During the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test, FromSoftware tried to resolve issues with a mid-test server maintenance update, but the problems persisted. Players had hoped for an extension of the test as compensation, but it ended as planned. Shortly after, the Elden Ring Twitter account acknowledged the difficulties, apologized for any inconvenience, and confirmed that developers were working on enhancing server stability. Most significantly, FromSoftware hinted at scheduling another Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test to give players a second chance at testing the game properly.

It seems that the initial Elden Ring Nightreign beta test was fraught with issues and sparked criticisms from the gaming community, which is why another test is needed to rebuild trust and make sure players receive the gameplay experience they were expecting. With such immense anticipation for Elden Ring Nightreign, a successful Network Test could play a significant role in paving the way for the game’s official release in May.
