Will Avowed get a PS5 release date in 2025?

As of now, there are no announced plans by Obsidian Entertainment for a PlayStation 5-compatible edition of Avowed.

Set within the same universe as Pillars of Eternity (2015), the video game being developed by Carrie Patel is currently available exclusively on Xbox and PC. This exclusivity arises because Microsoft, having acquired Obsidian Entertainment in 2018, now produces games specifically for Xbox Game Studios.

Despite the fact that Xbox exclusives are typically unavailable on PlayStation, there have been recent instances where some have appeared on the PS5. This development has given fans a small hint of possibility for Avowed. For example, highly praised games like Sea of Thieves and the upcoming Forza Horizon 5 are evidence of titles that broadened their reach by becoming accessible on Sony’s console as well.

Furthermore, in a previous conversation with Bloomberg, Phil Spencer, who heads Microsoft Gaming, stated that his team has no plans to prevent Xbox exclusives from being released on other platforms. He expressed that there are no absolute boundaries in their portfolio that prohibit such crossover.

Spencer emphasized the same viewpoint during his conversation with Danny Peña. He expressed, “Given my role, I consider hardware essential to our work, not aiming to restrict games from other platforms.
