In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, one significant quest is known as Birds of Prey. This guide will help you accomplish it.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Birds of Prey is among the numerous additional tasks. This mission is extensive and ties into the main plot, making it a crucial part of the game. To participate in this quest, you must first accomplish the Lackey side quest initially.
How to Complete Birds of Prey in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
In this adventure, it’s Henry who’s assigned by the gamekeeper he saved during Lackey to locate and eliminate illegal hunters who are operating within the designated woodland. These poachers number five in total. However, the precise spots where they hide aren’t disclosed; you must scan a broad region instead.
The First Poacher
The initial poacher can be found in the northwestern region, where roads intersect, near Vidlak Lake. Speaking with him should lead to his surrender. He maintains that he is hunting merely for the purpose of feeding his family. Here lies an opportunity for you to pose a set of questions to him.
After examining all the conversation paths, you’ll reach a point where you decide his fate. You could opt to apprehend him and lead him to face justice at the gallows. Another choice is to try a skill test to discourage him from poaching, but this will only work if your skills are not at their lowest level. Lastly, there’s the extreme option of taking his life.
Your choices influence how Vostatek the gamekeeper perceives you in different manners. Capturing the poacher will earn you the most respect, while persuading him to cease his activities will lower your standing slightly. After completing the quest, return to Vostatek and learn roughly where the next poacher can be found.
The Second Poacher
For the second poacher, consider approaching either the tanner or the fisherman and his wife who reside west of Vostatek’s home. They can guide you to a trail behind their dwelling adorned with Pagan statues. Proceed along this path until you reach an open space, then continue heading north while following the idols. Eventually, you will come across the poacher in the heart of the forest.
This current poacher is more resistant to reason than his previous counterpart. He can be pacified by a persuasive argument or an intimidating display, but such attempts are likely to fall flat unless your persuasion or intimidation skills are exceptionally strong. If you fail, the poacher will become aggressive, leaving you with no choice but to either eliminate him or render him unconscious. Should you choose the latter option, you can then hand him over to the bailiff once he regains consciousness.
Upon your return to Vostatek, he’ll direct you to Gamekeeper Varel, who might have additional tasks for you. Once you find him, he should provide you with details about more poachers.
The Third Poacher
Make your way to Troskowitz. To gather information about the poacher, speak with the Gravedigger residing in the eastern district of the village. He should provide a clue leading to Slatego Forest.
In the world of Slatego, I stumbled upon an incomplete cottage to the southwest, nestled within a campsite. At this campsite, I chanced upon a Poacher’s Knife tucked neatly inside a sack. If I’ve wrapped up Mutt’s side quest, I can ask ol’ Mutt to sniff out the poacher using that very knife. On the other hand, I could follow the bloodstains leading the way to my destination instead.
Upon locating the poacher, you’ll discover he was slain by wolves. Recover his belongings before returning to Varel.
The Fourth Poacher
As a keen explorer, I’ve discovered a group of four poachers nestled southeast of the Lower Semine Mill. If you need more details, have a chat with Kreyzl at the mill. Venture into the woods, and you’ll come across their camp, where three of these poachers reside.
If poachers become overly injured while attempting their illegal activities, they may flee. Therefore, it’s not necessary to use excessive force against them. Gather proof of poaching, then return to Varel for the last member of the poaching gang, making this the fifth and final one you need to apprehend.
The Fifth Poacher
Varel hints that the elusive poacher is similar to a spirit, often seen lurking close to Trosky Castle. Finding him can be challenging, but if you follow the path northeast of the castle, then head north and slightly westward, you’ll spot some cliffs. The area beneath these cliffs is where you’re likely to find this ghostly figure.
It turns out that the “ghost” is actually Hans. You can question him, and later decide whether to take his story about feeding the gamekeeper as an excuse or try to bluff with a Speech Check to come up with a different explanation.
Hans is going to lend you some of his gear as evidence that you’ve located the poacher. Afterward, you can go back to Varel and decide whether to tell him the truth or concoct a story. If you choose honesty, it may upset Varel and the quest will be over. However, if you lie and present Hans’ equipment, Varel should believe your tale, which will wrap up the quest successfully.
Finishing the mission will earn you: 80 Groschen, a robust Aesop, a Marksman’s gear set, three dried deer ribs, a cobbler kit, another strong Aesop, and a powerful Bowman’s elixir. Additionally, you will have the option to keep Hans’ equipment, which you can choose to sell, store, or return to him.
