Okay, so I just saw the news – Netflix is adding three new faces to Bridgerton Season 5! Everyone’s been waiting for it, and it sounds like they’re really building up the cast. I’m excited to see who they are and what they’ll bring to the show!
In season five, Hannah Dodd and Masali Baduza will star as Francesca and Michaela Stirling, alongside returning actors Tega Alexander, Jacqueline Boatswain, and Gemma Knight Jones.
Actor Alexander will play Christopher Anderson, the intriguing son of Lord Anderson, in The Sandman. According to Tudum, this new character is a charming and confident bachelor from the Regency era – someone who could rival the eligible men in Bridgerton. However, beneath his playful exterior, he struggles with insecurity, and he’s determined to make a lasting impression on society, no matter the cost.

I was stoked to hear that Boatswain from Carnival Row and Knight Jones from Mobland are joining the cast! They’re going to play Michaela’s mom, Helen Stirling, and Lady Elizabeth Ashworth, which should be awesome. Apparently, Helen’s supposed to be pretty charming!
According to Tudum, Mrs. Stirling is the reason her daughter is so spirited. Like all mothers, Helen wants to help her daughter navigate London’s social scene, offering a mix of encouragement and firm guidance.

Michaela’s longtime friend, Lady Elizabeth Ashworth, acts as both a trusted confidante and a guide to navigating London society. Though she appears lighthearted and charming, Elizabeth is actually a practical and insightful woman who understands the hidden expectations of her world.
Netflix says the new actors will give viewers a fresh look at what’s happening with Francesca and Michaela, and introduce new storylines.
Production on season five is now happening, and Tudum has shared a quick preview of what viewers can look forward to.
The upcoming season will focus on the third daughter of the family as she begins looking for a new husband, two years after her first husband, Lord John Stirling, tragically passed away.
Francesca is focused on making sensible choices, but her plans will be shaken up when John’s cousin, Michaela, comes back to London to manage the family estate. Francesca will have to choose between continuing with her practical life or following the desires Michaela inspires within her.

In an interview with Tudum, actor Dodd explained that his and other characters react to John’s death in very personal and distinct ways, each grieving differently.
I don’t believe you ever truly recover from grief. Fran will always carry John in her heart, and his influence will stay with her always.
Baduza expressed her excitement about how the show’s story, especially the main romance, is developing, saying, “We’re so grateful and thrilled!”
She explained that Michaela is very guarded and keeps people at a distance, but she’s looking forward to helping Michaela open up and let Francesca get to know the real her.
I can’t wait for viewers to see Michaela’s strong feelings for Francesca,” Dodd said. “And Francesca feels the same way!”
Bridgerton seasons 1-4 are streaming on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
