A new police drama featuring Peter Capaldi, known from Doctor Who, and Cush Jumbo, star of Stay Close, will premiere this month. A recently released trailer has built excitement for the show, promising a fast-paced and intense experience.
The Apple TV+ series Criminal Record returns for its second season on April 22nd, bringing back Peter Capaldi and Maxine Peake as detectives DCI Daniel Hegarty and DS June Lenker, who will be forced to work together despite their differences.
The new trailer shows the two main characters teaming up to investigate a murder at a political rally. Their investigation quickly grows into a dangerous undercover mission to stop a far-right group from carrying out a bombing in London.
According to Hegarty, this extremist group has been involved in illegal weapons dealing and is now preparing for another operation.
Okay, so the main suspect the police are focusing on is Cosmo Thompson, and it’s actually Dustin Demri-Burns from Slow Horses playing him. He’s supposedly the guy running this far-right group, and he’s the one who’s been in direct contact with the detectives. It’s pretty intense!

He begins with a direct address to the audience, saying, “If you’re listening…” before the trailer cuts to the sound of a bomb ticking, revealing the recording’s content.
Hegarty and Lenker work together to prevent problems from happening, as Capaldi’s character describes it.
“You wanna catch this man?” Hegarty asks Lenker. “This is the only game in town.”
The experienced officer and her younger partner need to work together, despite their disagreements. Lenker begins to understand that following Hegarty’s unconventional methods might be the only way to achieve a fair outcome.
