Kyle Sandilands has disclosed a surprising fact about his recent brain scan results, which showed an aneurysm, that he had preferred his wife Tegan not to learn.

On Monday, the radio personality, aged 53, shockingly revealed that he’s suffering from a brain aneurysm and needs urgent emergency brain surgery right away. He had postponed getting a medical check-up for several months.

Kyle admitted he postponed his health check-up for several weeks. He attended the appointment but felt reluctant, saying to himself, “I’m not going, I’m not going.

‘We’ve been bumping the appointment [back] since October,’ Kyle’s manager Bruno Bouchet added. 

As a lifestyle expert, let me share a piece of advice I gave to my colleague: “Hush now, please don’t disclose that detail to my spouse!

‘The situation isn’t great. After the operation, I might need to take a break for a period of time, which could range from two to eight weeks, based on my recovery progress.’

At the start of his breakfast program on Monday, the highly-acclaimed KIIS FM presenter shared surprising news that left listeners stunned.

On a Friday, my healthcare professionals informed me about a serious condition I have – a brain aneurysm. This situation calls for urgent care and brain surgery, as explained by him.

“My physician warned me that neglecting the issue could have been fatal. Living a lifestyle dominated by cocaine use and excessive partying isn’t advisable.

He then cracked a joke about the show’s lower ratings in Melbourne.

Co-host Jackie O Henderson said: ‘Let’s think positive.’

‘That doesn’t work in real life,’ Kyle responded. 

The presenter then explained his condition on air. 

He explained that instead of thinking of it as a blockage, consider the blood vessel similar to a garden hose that weakens and forms a large blister or bubble-like protrusion, much like a puncture in it. This bubble is analogous to an aneurysm, so it’s not exactly blocked, but has a weak spot instead.

‘It’s expanded and if it bursts, (I will become) either a vegetable, in the wheelchair, or dead.’

He disclosed that his physician has forbidden him from using cocaine, engaging in sexual activities, self-pleasuring, lifting heavy weights, and experiencing high levels of stress.

Kyle then revealed the effect the sad news was having on his loved ones. 

Every time his wife, Tegan Kynaston (age 39), who gave birth to their son Otto in 2022, encounters him, she cannot help but shed tears, as he shared.

Last Tuesday, when the show resumed, Kyle wasn’t present. Jackie O mentioned to her audience that Kyle had apparently thrown up on himself.

He returned on air on Wednesday and Thursday, but was away sick again on Friday.
