Vincent D’Onofrio and Daredevil: Born Again EPs weigh in on Episode 4’s ending

The fourth episode of Daredevil: Born Again’s second season concludes with a violent attack on Vanessa Fisk, leaving viewers uncertain about whether she will survive.

As a big fan of Vincent D’Onofrio’s portrayal of Wilson Fisk, I was really interested to hear what he had to say about the recent events in the show. Apparently, whatever happened is going to seriously amp up Fisk’s anger. He told Screen Rant that every attempt to challenge his power just makes him even more determined to eliminate anyone who opposes him – basically, he wants them all gone.

Vincent D’Onofrio, who has portrayed Wilson Fisk in both the Netflix series and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, explained that Fisk has been deeply affected by what happened to Vanessa. He believes this has left Fisk more unstable and less rational than ever before. Ayelet Zurer has played Vanessa since the beginning of the Daredevil series on Netflix in 2015.

D’Onofrio also explained that the consequences of her death will be a major focus in Season 3. However, executive producer Sana Amanat hinted that Vanessa’s fate might not be as final as it seems, responding with a mysterious “Or is it?” leaving fans to question if she truly survived.

Dario Scardapane, the showrunner, explained how the recent events will change Wilson Fisk. He said that the one thing that made Fisk seem somewhat human is now gone, meaning he’s now completely unrestrained. Writer Eric Amanat added that audiences will be surprised by the path Fisk takes next.

Scardapane explained that viewers might anticipate an angry reaction, but suggested Episode 5 will offer something unexpected and fresh: “Episode five is something… truly new.”

There are still four episodes remaining in Season 2, and the season will conclude on Disney+ on May 5, 2026. Season 3 is scheduled to premiere in March 2027, and filming has already started as of March 2026.
