Reza Farahan, known for appearing on the reality shows Shahs of Sunset and The Valley: Persian Style, is sharing details about his relationships in his new memoir.
Farahan, 52, revealed he had a casual relationship with Bob Harper, 60, a well-known host of the reality show, The Biggest Loser.
They began dating at the gym and were together for several years, but Farahan felt more deeply about the relationship than Harper did.
Harper then married a man named Scott, and their relationship became a three-way dynamic, with the trainer having intimate relationships with both men.
Their relationship as a trio ended in a heartbreaking tragedy, as Farahan detailed in his recent autobiography.
The book about their love story, titled Memoirs of a Gay Shah: My Story of Family, Fame, and Becoming a King, was released on Tuesday.
Harper and Farahan met while working as trainers at the same gym, but Farahan later moved on to a different job.
Farahan started attending Harper’s classes, and they quickly became very close friends. Their friendship eventually grew into a romantic relationship.
Farahan explained that Bob and she had a casual, physical relationship for a while, but it was strictly friends with benefits.
I was hoping for something more, but I sensed he wasn’t looking for a committed relationship, so I didn’t pursue it further.
Harper later married Scott, and Farahan developed a close relationship with both of them. The three of them then entered into a romantic relationship with each other.
Bob and I eventually fell in love. Before that, though, Bob was dating both Scott and me for a period of time, as Farahan remembers.
The story has a somewhat sad ending. Despite the fact that I was pursuing Bob, who was married to Scott, Scott sadly passed away. Bob and I didn’t stay together romantically, but we’ve remained friends ever since.
Farahan, who frequently showcases his work as a real estate broker on his reality TV shows, also revealed that he recently sold Bob’s house.
Honestly, reading Harper’s take on things… it just hit me. It was like a lightbulb moment – I finally understood this wasn’t right. She made it so clear he couldn’t handle not being the absolute center of attention, and that’s when I knew, deep down, he just couldn’t accept being second best. It was devastating, but I’m glad she helped me see it.
Originally from Tehran, she explained she was hoping for a committed, lasting relationship with someone who was both affectionate and completely devoted to her.
I wanted a partner who actively chose me, not someone who felt they had no other choice. It meant a lot to me that they had other possibilities, but still wanted to be with me.
Farahan started dating television editor Adam Neely in 2010, and they got married in Palm Springs five years later. They are still married today.
That year, Harper admitted to a brief, somewhat scandalous past encounter with Farahan while on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live.
Even though their romantic relationship had ended, Harper emphasized that she and Reza remained close friends, stating, ‘I truly love Reza!’
