Marvel Eyes More She-Hulk: Attorney at Law After Disney+ Success

Premiering on Disney+ in 2022, the series immediately sparked a lot of debate among Marvel fans. While opinions were sharply divided, Disney+ considers it one of their most popular Marvel shows.

Marvel TV executive Brad Winderbaum recently highlighted the success of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law in an interview with The Escape Pod podcast. He noted the show resonated with a broad audience and performed well on streaming, despite criticism from some Marvel fans. Winderbaum also expressed his enthusiasm for potentially creating more seasons, though he admitted that might not happen.

Marvel Wants to Make More She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

Winderbaum acknowledges the popularity of She-Hulk among fans, stating he’s also a fan himself and is eager to create more of the series.

He explained that She-Hulk is actually one of their most successful shows, resonating well with a broad audience. However, he noted a difference between how general viewers and dedicated fans reacted to it.

When told that a particular idea wasn’t feasible due to fan reaction, Marvel’s Winderbaum simply replied, “I know,” suggesting it’s unlikely to happen. However, he didn’t rule it out entirely, implying that new installments might be possible “one day.” He remains cautiously optimistic about the possibility.

Kevin Feige expressed interest in revisiting She-Hulk, saying, “Hopefully one day, maybe we’ll get the chance to make more.”

She-Hulk Greatly Divided Critics and Marvel Fans

As a big Marvel fan, I was pretty interested in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Critics generally liked it – it’s sitting at around 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. But it’s weird because regular viewers haven’t been so kind, giving it a really low score. Even the lead actress has talked about it, saying she’s heard a lot of positive feedback too, despite all the negativity surrounding the show. It’s just a bit of a mixed bag, honestly.

Tatiana Maslany explained she focuses on positive feedback instead of negative online reactions. “There’s so much more rewarding stuff to pay attention to than hateful comments or people just trying to be cruel,” she said. She finds it much more meaningful to connect with fans at conventions who genuinely love the show and have a long history with the She-Hulk comics. “Those are the things you remember,” she added, “and they help you keep going. It’s an ongoing process.”

Jessica Gao created the series, which centers on Jennifer Walters (played by Tatiana Maslany), a lawyer who handles cases involving people with superpowers. Jennifer is also She-Hulk, the superpowered cousin of Hulk, portrayed by Mark Ruffalo. The cast also includes Jameela Jamil, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Tim Roth, and Benedict Wong.
