Marvel’s Polarizing TV Show Was Really A Best-Performing Disney+ Series

Despite the mixed success of The Multiverse Saga, one Marvel Cinematic Universe show surprisingly turned out to be a win for Marvel Studios, even though it wasn’t well-received by many viewers.

Brad Winderbaum, a top executive at Marvel Studios, recently shared on The Escape Podcast that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, starring Tatiana Maslany, was a huge streaming success – one of their most-watched shows ever. Despite its popularity, a second season hasn’t been announced, though Winderbaum expressed his enthusiasm for continuing the series. He emphasized that She-Hulk really connected with a broad audience and performed exceptionally well.

As someone who’s watched Hollywood for a long time, I’ve noticed a frustrating pattern: whenever a movie or show, particularly in genres like superhero, fantasy, or sci-fi, puts a woman front and center, it unfortunately attracts a lot of nasty, sexist backlash. It seems some people just can’t handle seeing a female lead! We definitely saw this happen with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. It was a solid addition to the MCU, but it was also hit with a wave of unfair, negative reviews online, simply because the story focused on a woman.

Predictions about the She-Hulk TV show quickly came true, with many of its ideas and themes becoming popular topics on social media and in online discussions. As of today, the superhero legal comedy, which is part of Marvel’s Phase 4, has a 32% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, critics have given it a much higher rating of 80%.

Tatiana Maslany has been the subject of untrue rumors claiming she was fired from Marvel Studios and wouldn’t be returning as She-Hulk. There were also false reports that she had declined to reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday. However, Maslany dismissed these claims in a February 2026 interview, playfully responding, “You’ll never know. I don’t know. Do you know?”

It’s been a while since She-Hulk appeared in a live-action Marvel project, last seen in 2022. She’s not alone – many new characters introduced recently, like Moon Knight played by Oscar Isaac, haven’t returned yet either. The current Multiverse Saga has faced some production hurdles, including project delays and significant changes to movies and TV shows, as Marvel Studios is now prioritizing the completion of Phase 6.

Given how secretive Marvel is being about Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, it’s definitely possible She-Hulk will make a surprise return before this chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ends. While Avengers: Doomsday has finished filming, they’re planning reshoots this spring, and production on Avengers: Secret Wars will begin soon. It wouldn’t be unusual for Tatiana Maslany to have filmed something in secret, as many MCU actors often film additional scenes for future projects without anyone knowing.
