Journalist claims Diddy threatened her over magazine photos
In a forthcoming documentary series called “The Downfall of Diddy,” a journalist claims that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs made threatening remarks towards her, concerning his approval of photos for a magazine feature, and provides detailed accounts of their alleged conversation.
In a chilling threat, Danyel Smith, former editor-in-chief of Vibe magazine, claimed that Sean Combs, aged 55, swore he would make her end up dead in a car trunk if she didn’t provide him with previews of his images for an upcoming article in the publication.
Following the photoshoot, Mr. Combs requested a peek at the final versions prior to their release, as stated by Smith in a segment of the upcoming documentary series. It was standard procedure for us not to disclose the finished designs to anyone until they hit the stands.
According to Smith, during their phone conversation, Combs called to express his displeasure and issued death threats. He said something along the lines of, “I informed him I wouldn’t be making an exception for him, and he responded that if I didn’t comply with his request, he would make me end up dead in a trunk.
combed-denied previous accusations made by smith, and pleaded not guilty to charges of human trafficking following his arrest in September. He’s been kept in custody, waiting for the trial scheduled for May 5th, as his requests for bail have been denied on several occasions.
Dailymail.com has reached out to reps and attorneys for Diddy for further comment.
Smith asserted that she told Diddy he should retract what he said, to which he replied he wouldn’t retract anything, following this, she consulted her attorney.
Smith stated, ‘My lawyer contacted him to explain that failure to promptly send an apology would result in contacting the authorities. After around 90 minutes to two hours, I got a faxed apology.’
Smith stated later on that she found out Diddy had sent individuals to intimidate her regarding the matter, after it had already occurred.
She stated, “I just learned recently, from the staff at that time, that he had visited the Vibe offices a few days prior, accompanied by two rough individuals, who were apparently seeking me.
Last summer, Smith discussed the topic with The New York Times Magazine. He pointed out that the details submitted concerning the Combs story were missing when he looked into it at that time.
The story titled The Good, the Bad, and the Puffy, was published in December 1997/January 1998.
In a parallel assertion to what prosecutors stated during Combs’ federal trial, Smith argues that the music tycoon allegedly resorted to extortion and aggression when trying to suppress accusations from his alleged victims.
One of the allegations suggests that he coerced women into taking part in sexually explicit group performances, which were known as ‘Freak Offs.’
4 months after being arrested on sex trafficking and racketeering allegations, the artist behind “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” is still being kept in federal detention.
As a devoted adherent, I’ve made three unsuccessful bids for bail, given apprehensions in the court that I might either abscond or interfere with my own case. My responsibilities also include transportation, which is linked to prostitution allegations against me.
In the first half of 2024, he was frequently featured in news headlines following a series of events. This included searches conducted across various locations in March, a disturbing video of him attacking his ex-girlfriend Cassie being broadcast on CNN in May, and ultimately his arrest on September 16 in Manhattan.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, as his trial date of May 5 looms.
In a nutshell, the summary of the upcoming documentary on Investigation Discovery gives an idea about the topics and events that will be covered in the series.
The report spans from individuals who witnessed his purported violent behavior and fiery temper during his college years at Howard University and early career with Bad Boy Records, to people who knew him during his peak of influence and power in recent times. The report states that ‘The Decline of Diddy encompasses decades of escalating accusations.’
By conducting interviews and utilizing an abundance of historical footage, the documentary ‘The Fall of Diddy’ provides a comprehensive portrayal of an individual who is rumored to have used his immense power and impact for decades, hiding a pattern of abuse and violence. The trail he left behind caused an unparalleled level of pain and distress.
The Fall of Diddy will make its premiere across two evenings, specifically on the 27th and 28th of January, airing on both Investigation Discovery and Max.
