Before becoming famous with the band Mötley Crüe, Tommy Lee revealed he used to work as a male escort when he was younger.
Musician Tommy Lee, 63 – who was formerly married to Pamela Anderson – recently shared stories about dating older women during an interview on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast.
He explained that they started living together in an apartment, and that’s when they met a woman who ran a business arranging dates with older women – and getting paid for it.
Lee, whose band was formed in 1981, said the dates ranged from just having dinner to having sex.
He often spent time simply having dinner with these women. They mostly wanted someone to share a meal and enjoy some company. He felt fortunate, though, as some of the older women he met were genuinely lively and enjoyable to be around.
As a result, the musician made $500, which was a significant increase compared to the $20 per week he and his band used to get from their manager.
Pamela Lee says she went on approximately nine or ten dates working as an escort. She shares two sons, Brandon, 30, and Dylan, 28, with her ex-partner, 59-year-old Tommy Lee.
This isn’t the first time the star has been candid about his former profession.
In August 2024, he discussed the experience on Theo Von’s podcast, revealing he had worked as an escort for roughly a year.
He explained that if the woman he was with was older and he just hoped it would be a simple dinner, he’d be really happy. He’d be content with just having dinner, drinks, and good conversation, and relieved when that’s all it was.
Sometimes people would push for things I wasn’t comfortable with, and that was really difficult. It’s just awkward when someone wants intimacy and you don’t.
Tommy Lee became famous as the drummer for Mötley Crüe, and in 1994, he met and married Pamela Anderson.
Their tumultuous on-off relationship ended for a final time in 2009.
Lee has been married to his fourth wife, 39-year-old comedian Brittany Furlan, since 2019.
Anderson unpacked the details of her relationship with Lee in her 2023 memoir Love, Pamela.
She admitted to the Wall Street Journal that she understood why his wife would be upset, saying she herself would feel the same way in that situation.
I was so moved reading her memoir. She admitted that her relationship with Tommy might have been the one true love of her life, which really struck me. But what broke my heart – and I think ultimately led to their split – was her need to protect her children. She felt she had to leave him for their sake, and it’s clear that decision wasn’t easy.
Anderson claims Lee physically assaulted her while she was holding their infant son, Dylan.
Lee served four months of a six-month sentence after pleading no contest to felony spousal battery.
In a 2023 interview with Howard Stern, the actress shared that she and her former husband only communicated occasionally, ‘just a text here and there.’
