Apple TV’s Returning Sci-Fi Masterpiece Is Getting A “Whole New Dimension” As Star Offers Season 4 Filming Update

Foundation‘s Lee Pace teases a “cool” dimension in season 4.

The Apple TV+ series is a science fiction adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s classic novels. Created by David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman (known for his work on War of the Worlds), the show takes place in the distant future, where a declining empire governs humanity. The story centers on a group of characters working to build a ‘Foundation’ – an ambitious project designed to safeguard human knowledge and progress as the empire crumbles.

The Apple TV+ series Foundation features a talented cast, including Lee Pace, Jared Harris, Lou Llobell, and Cherry Jones. After three seasons and 30 episodes, the show has received excellent reviews. Recently, Lee Pace shared some news about when filming will begin for season four.

So, I was reading an interview with Steven Yeun over at ScreenRant about what’s coming in Invincible season 4, and he dropped some hints after that crazy season 3 finale. He didn’t give anything specific away, but he said they’re filming right now in Prague and that the new season is really expanding the scope of the show. Basically, he teased that things are about to get much bigger. Here’s what he had to say:

We’re currently filming season four of Foundation here in Prague, and it’s going really well! This season is particularly exciting – the story is expanding and becoming even more complex. We’ve introduced a new element that I think fans who have followed the show from the beginning will absolutely love. I’m really looking forward to people seeing it, and I’m definitely having a blast while filming.

As a huge fan of Foundation, I’m really curious about how many seasons the creators, Goyer and Friedman, have mapped out. Knowing that the book series has seven novels, there are so many possibilities for where they could take season 4, especially after that cliffhanger ending in season 3! It really feels like they could go in almost any direction.

The season 3 finale of Foundation finally revealed who the Mule is, and included the surprising deaths of Demerzel and Brother Day, killed by Dusk. Despite this, the actor who played Day will be back for season 4, hinting that the character will somehow return. One possibility is that Brother Dawn will develop into a new version of Brother Day, becoming the sole surviving clone.

Foundation is a visually stunning and intelligently written sci-fi series, boasting a detailed universe and a compelling cast of complex characters. The show has consistently been bold in its storytelling, and recent comments hint at a thrilling future for season 4 and the seasons to come.
