Matthew Macfadyen unveils a new look as he sports trendy specs and a loose-fitting suit while posing with screen wife Elizabeth Banks at the premiere of their new TV show

Matthew Macfadyen looked sharp and stylish at the Los Angeles premiere of his new series, The Miniature Wife, on Tuesday.

The 51-year-old actor looked incredibly handsome while posing with his co-star, Elizabeth Banks. The two clearly have great chemistry, playfully joking around for the cameras on the red carpet.

Matthew subtly changed up his style, wearing fashionable glasses with clear frames and a relaxed-fit navy suit over a white button-down shirt.

The actor from Pride and Prejudice finished his stylish outfit with a vibrant blue polka dot tie and a patterned silk pocket square.

He was seen laughing with Elizabeth, a stylish 52-year-old, who looked stunning in a black leather dress with a dramatic cape.

The Hunger Games actress wore high heels to close the height gap between herself and Matthew, who is 6’3″ and much taller than her 5’5″ frame. This playfully mirrored the dynamic between their characters in The Miniature Wife.

This science fiction romantic comedy is inspired by a short story from Manuel Gonzales. It explores how a couple’s relationship is tested – and the shifting dynamics between them – after a technological mishap creates a major crisis.

The story centers on Lindy and Les Littlejohn, a married couple constantly vying for control in their relationship. Their conflict takes a bizarre turn when Les, a scientist, accidentally shrinks Lindy down to just six inches tall using one of his inventions.

Matthew and Elizabeth weren’t just the stars of the show—they were also executive producers.

Zoe Lister-Jones, O-T Fagbenle, Sofia Rosinsky, and Sian Clifford are also starring in the show, which will debut on Peacock this Thursday.

The new show about marriage is debuting shortly after Matthew spoke about his own relationship with Keeley Hawes, and how she once considered divorcing him.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always inspired by strong relationships! I recently learned about a lovely couple celebrating 21 years of marriage. They first connected back in 2002 and have built a beautiful family together. They’re parents to Maggie, who’s 21, and Ralph, 19. Plus, there’s Myles, 25, who Matthew lovingly stepped in to help raise as Keeley’s son from a previous relationship. It’s wonderful to see blended families thriving!

Even though Ryan Reynolds and his wife have a happy marriage, he recently revealed she threatened to divorce him over his obsession with the show Succession.

He was filming for the popular TV show in the American Southwest and tried to experience the local culture firsthand.

Matthew shared on the Travel Secrets podcast that they visited the high desert in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He remembered calling his wife, Keeley, to ask if he could get away with buying a pair of cowboy boots.

He shared that Keeley, known for her role in Line Of Duty, was strongly opposed to the idea, saying something along the lines of, “If you want to stay married, don’t do it.” He also admitted he probably wouldn’t have looked very good.

Keeley met Matthew on the set of the TV show Spooks in 2002. At the time, she was newly married to a cartoonist named Spencer and had a young son named Myles.

Matthew confessed he developed feelings for Keeley while filming the BBC spy series, but emphasized that they didn’t become involved until after her breakup with Spencer in May 2002.

In a 2005 interview with the Mail on Sunday, he explained that he and the woman were not having an affair, but that developing feelings was a gradual process. He acknowledged her strong effect on him, describing her as ‘gorgeous’ and saying that anyone who meets her would agree.

I was so fascinated to read that Keeley actually fell for Matthew while they were filming Spooks! She told Vanity Fair a while back that Matthew was incredibly direct – he just blurted out ‘I love you’ to her, completely out of the blue, while they were standing in the rain! She apparently had a ‘here we go’ moment, which I totally get – talk about a bold move!

She finalized her divorce from Spencer in 2004, and later that year, she married Matthew in a small ceremony at the Richmond registry office. A month after the wedding, they welcomed their first child, Maggie.

In a recent interview with You Magazine last November, she shared that the key to their lasting relationship was simply enjoying each other’s company and spending time together.

When asked about reaching their 21st anniversary, the actor known for ‘The Bodyguard’ said they weren’t sure how they did it, but that they simply enjoy each other’s company. They also added that with time, they’ve both become more laid-back.

After 21 years, any marriage is bound to have its ups and downs, and we’ve had our share. But overall, we’re very happy. Life with us is pretty simple – sometimes it’s as easy as just getting outside and taking care of the yard together.

People always want to know the secret to a good life, but it really comes down to the little things. We enjoy spending time together as a family, and that’s probably the most important part. It’s easy to get caught up in life and before you know it, the kids grow up, so it’s important to have shared activities – like taking trips together.

Matthew is starting several new projects, building on the success of his award-winning performance as Tom Wambsgans in the popular show Succession, for which he’s won two Emmys, two BAFTAs, and a Golden Globe.

Oh my gosh, I actually saw him last month! He was filming this super intriguing psychological thriller, Séance on a Wet Afternoon, out on Hampstead Heath. And Rachel Weisz and Joe Alwyn were there too! I nearly lost it, honestly. It was amazing to see him in action, even from a distance.

This movie is an updated version of both a 1964 film and the 1961 novel it was based on. Rachel and Matthew now star as the married couple, Myra and Billy – roles originally made famous by Kim Stanley and Richard Attenborough.

Matthew is currently filming the BBC’s adaptation of John le Carré’s famous ‘Legacy of Spies’ series, where he’ll be playing the legendary spy George Smiley. Production began last week, demonstrating his packed schedule.

The new eight-episode show, featuring Charlie Hunnam and Daniel Brühl, started filming in Prague this month.

Matthew recently received positive reviews for his role as Charles Guiteau in the Netflix series Death By Lightning. Guiteau was the man who assassinated President James A. Garfield in 1881.

The historical movie, adapted from Candice Millard’s book Destiny of the Republic, was released in November and received rave reviews, with The Telegraph calling Matthew’s performance ‘simply electric’.

According to The Guardian, the actor from Succession delivers a truly outstanding performance in this fast-paced historical miniseries. They describe his depiction of the man who assassinated the US president in 1881 as a new peak in his already impressive talent.

The Financial Times praised the actor’s outstanding performance, suggesting it could lead to more Emmy Awards for him.
