Greta Gerwig’s Shocking Cheetos Addiction Revealed

During movie productions, Greta Gerwig openly admits to consuming large amounts of Cheetos, which could be the reason behind her preference for skipping midday breaks on set.

Together, the filmmaker behind the Barbie movie and her partner, director Noah Baumbach, discussed the hurdles they face in keeping up creative energy throughout their workdays.

On the Ruthie’s Table 4 podcast, Baumbach, aged 55, confessed that it can be challenging to regain one’s full strength upon resuming work after a lunch break.

41-year-old Gerwig proposed a balanced solution: “If you meditate over lunchtime, it could provide an additional morning for you, a tip I picked up from David Lynch.

Regardless if it’s casual or formal, it offers a brief opportunity for relaxation before continuing with more decision-making.

She mentioned that if you inform the crew about your intention to meditate, it somewhat triggers in them a thought along the lines of “perhaps I should also try meditation.

Although she follows a mindful approach, Gerwig confessed that her eating habits aren’t always glamorous when fully engrossed in movie making.

I tend to fall back on immature eating patterns, often consuming large amounts of Cheetos and Diet Coke. Cheetos and Diet Coke are what I regularly indulge in.

Contrary to Baumbach, Gerwig finds herself quite agitated, as he prefers a strict diet of salads compared to Gerwig’s choice of comfort foods. (This sentence aims to convey the original meaning with a slight twist in phrasing and perspective.)

She playfully commented, “It speaks volumes that you find comfort in a salad,” indicating his exceptional self-control. Yet, it’s frustratingly impressive to me.

The newly-settled couple in London, with Gerwig set to helm Netflix’s revival of The Chronicles of Narnia, discussed their views on cinema, cuisine, and kinship over dinner at The River Café, opening up about their experiences.

They manage to harmonize both their private and work life, with their two sons; the elder one being five-year-old Harold, while the younger one, yet unnamed, was born in 2023.

Gerwig and Baumbach, who share both personal and professional bonds, crossed paths for the first time during the production of Baumbach’s 2010 movie titled Greenberg.

They tied the knot in 2022 and have become two of Hollywood’s most celebrated voices.

Greta Gerwig has been behind the camera for popular films such as Barbie, Lady Bird, and Little Women, whereas Noah Baumbach is widely recognized for his work on Marriage Story and Frances Ha.

Food is central to their lives on and off set.

Gerwig emphasized the role of camaraderie in movie production: “I enjoy arranging pre-production gatherings with the entire cast and team – extensive, lively meals together.

One reason I enjoy filmmaking is due to the emergence of supportive communities, where we share a unifying goal, and it seems almost unattainable.

Let’s share a meal as we’re all taking on something quite exposed together. So, let’s break bread together.

Pondering over her movie titled “Barbie,” which raked in over £1.1 billion at the box office, making it the top-grossing film of 2023 and the highest-earning one ever directed by a woman, Gerwig commented: ‘Even with something like Barbie, as the Barbie character has been around since 1959 and has undergone various logo transformations, change is inevitable.’

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can tell you that the Barbie doll of my youth stands out for its bold, blocky lettering – it holds a special place in my heart. If it wasn’t uniquely mine, then why would it hold any significance? It could just as easily have been produced by anyone else.

Deep within the realm of Narnia, a passion project that she’s cultivated for many years, Gerwig shared with Time: “Narnia has been in development for quite some time; I wrote a draft before even stepping onto the Barbie movie set.

It seems likely that my preparation for Narnia, coupled with my desire to revisit it, was perhaps a psychological setup on my part.

‘Since I believe it’s the appropriate course of action for myself, I’ll continue to create films. Regardless of the outcome, whether it’s positive or negative, persistence is key.’

For Gerwig and Baumbach, a mutual love for cinema, cuisine, and narrative is what fuels their creative bond.

As Baumbach put it: ‘You get together to have food and talk about music and movies.’
