Michael Jackson‘s son, Blanket, seems to be getting involved in the ongoing dispute between his sister, Paris Jackson, and the people managing their father’s estate.
According to legal documents obtained by Daily Mail, Paris Jackson, 28, reportedly derailed a deal she and her brothers, Prince, 29, and Blanket, 24, had tentatively reached just last month, according to executors John Branca and John McClain.
Lawyers for the estate’s representatives told the court that the team formerly known as Blanket, now operating as Bigi, wanted to reach a mutually acceptable agreement with everyone involved.
Okay, so I’ve been following this so closely, and the people handling Michael’s estate just announced something huge! Apparently, they think they’ve finally come to an agreement, and it’s all thanks to Bigi – Prince Michael II, you guys! His lawyers were the ones who really pushed for this, and they said he was speaking for all three of the kids – Paris, Prince, and Bigi – and their legal teams too. It’s just… amazing to see Bigi stepping up like that. I’m so proud of him and his siblings for working this out!
According to court documents, the situation changed when Paris’s lawyers unexpectedly backed out of a deal that everyone else had already agreed to.
Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for both parties for further comment on the story.
According to court documents, Paris unexpectedly withdrew from the agreement right before it was finalized, suddenly requesting terms that were significantly different from what everyone had previously understood was agreed upon.
The problem centered on the accounting systems, and Paris stated in legal documents that she believed they required greater supervision.
The updated agreement requires the estate’s executors to get court approval before any bonus payments are made to the lawyers working on the case, as stated in court documents.
As a long-time follower of this case, I understand the executors are willing to consider the original plan, but they’ve firmly rejected the one Paris presented. They also want to be clear – and I really appreciate this – that they’ve always followed the court’s rules, and no judge has ever found them to be in violation.
According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Paris Jackson has been subjected to a harmful and unfair attack since she initially raised concerns, with those managing her father’s estate and their lawyers allegedly responsible, as reported by the Daily Mail on Monday.
The lawyers are reportedly using the Jackson family’s money to criticize and undermine her simply because she’s asking for clear and honest information about how her family’s finances are managed.
According to the source, reports that a deal was nearly finalized were inaccurate.
According to a source, no agreement was ever proposed by anyone that would have resolved all the disagreements between Paris and the estate’s administrators.
According to a source, when a plan for paying the lawyers involved was suggested, the estate’s executors and their high-paid legal counsel actively tried to weaken it. They added so many exceptions and loopholes that the plan would have been impossible to implement.
Their requests would have let the people handling the estate and their lawyers keep working without being held responsible for their actions.
Michael Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50, after experiencing a heart attack at his home in Los Angeles.
Authorities in February 2010 deemed his death as the result of acute propofol intoxication.
Jackson received a strong medication from his doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray. Investigators said Jackson referred to the drug – which was given through an IV – as ‘milk’ and explained he needed it to help him sleep.
The news of Jackson’s passing led to an outpouring of tributes from fans around the world, both at memorial sites and rapidly growing online platforms like social media.
Michael Jackson’s family, including his three children, attended a widely-watched memorial service for him on July 7, 2009, at what is now the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles (formerly known as Staples Center). It was the first time the public had seen Jackson’s children without masks.
At the heartfelt service, 11-year-old Paris shared how much she loved her father, describing him as the best a person could ask for since the day she was born.
It was so heartbreaking, but thankfully, a small, private service for Michael was held for his closest family and friends at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. It felt good knowing he was surrounded by love, even in those final moments. I wish I could have been there, just to pay my respects…
After Michael Jackson’s death, Dr. Conrad Murray’s treatment of him came under investigation. Concerns arose about his decisions regarding the amount of medication he gave Jackson and whether he followed proper safety procedures when administering it.
Investigators concluded that Michael Jackson’s death was a homicide. Over two years later, in November 2011, his doctor, Conrad Murray, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and given a four-year prison sentence.
Michael Jackson enjoyed an incredibly successful music career, becoming one of the best-selling artists ever and winning 13 Grammy Awards from a total of 38 nominations.
He won several awards, including Best R&B Vocal Performance for “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough” in 1980, and Album and Record of the Year for Thriller and “Beat It” respectively, both in 1984.
In 1993, he received a Grammy Legend Award, and after his death, The Recording Academy honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. He was also inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
