Soap legend Susan Lucci, 79, shows off her age-defying beauty as she steps out in New York

She’s arguably one of the most iconic and glamorous soap opera stars of all time.

It wasn’t surprising to see 79-year-old Susan Lucci get attention when she appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show in New York City on Monday.

The actress from All My Children wore a casual but fashionable outfit: leggings and a flowy, bright yellow top.

She added some pizazz to the look by donning a pair of designer stilettos from Christian Dior.

She also carried a grey Birkin handbag and wore an oversized pair of sunglasses.

Okay, so the wind was really picking up today! I decided to bundle up in one of my favorite pieces – a seriously cozy, oversized Moncler puffer. It’s definitely an investment piece – around $3,600 – but honestly, when it’s this cold and windy, being comfortable and stylish is worth it to me!

Susan Lucci is famous for her work on daytime television, but her next major project is the Apple TV+ film, Outcome.

Jonah Hill wrote and directed this darkly humorous film about an actor struggling with sobriety who finds himself being blackmailed.

Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, Matt Bomer, and David Spade also star.

Following her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Lucci changed into a stunning strapless blue dress for the premiere of Outcome.

She looked sensational in the figure-hugging frock, which featured pink floral details.

It really struck me earlier this year when Lucci opened up about the things that still bring back the pain of losing her husband, Helmut Huber, after 52 wonderful years together. It’s so relatable to see her share those ‘grief triggers’ – it shows how deeply she still feels his loss.

After his death in 2022 at age 84, following a stroke just a month earlier, the star told People she felt utterly lost and incredibly lonely.

She admits the pain still hits in waves and often catches her by surprise.

The couple had two children, Liza, who is now 50, and Andreas, 45, and Lucci reflects on their family life as a wonderful blessing.

She admits that some memories still cause her significant pain, and holidays are particularly difficult. During these times, it’s impossible to forget that someone is missing from family gatherings.

Honestly, I’ve learned to just accept it. It still catches me off guard sometimes, but I don’t struggle against the feelings. Things like holidays are definitely hard – you can’t help but notice the empty space at the table. But I’ve found the best thing to do is simply let the emotions come and go, and just ride it out.

When asked what she misses most about her late husband, Lucci admitted ‘everything.’

It’s difficult to put into words, but I just really miss him—his company, and the simple things we used to do together, like having coffee in the mornings.

They met while working at a hotel and quickly fell in love, becoming engaged just three weeks later. They were married in September 1969.

Huber managed Lucci for a large part of her career and also led Pine Valley Productions, the company they co-founded, which was named after the setting of the TV show All My Children.

Susan Lucci began playing Erica Kane in 1970 and continued in the role until the show All My Children finished airing in 2011.

Her other memorable roles include Dallas, Hot in Cleveland, and Devious Maids.
