With cinematic cutscenes showing New York City descending into chaos, your mission is to save civilians and battle dangerous enemy groups.

The story really adds to the game, with engaging conversations, cutscenes, and background details woven into the missions. While you can skip these parts, the storyline is genuinely good and kept me hooked. As someone who enjoyed the earlier games, it also felt wonderfully familiar and brought back a lot of good memories.

The game offers a lot of replay value. It’s built as a constantly evolving ‘live service,’ meaning you can look forward to frequent updates that add to the story, world, and gameplay challenges.

The game offers plenty to do, including challenging Hostile Nests, dynamic World Events like Hostage Rescues, and the unique Dark Zone. You can experience it all on your own, or team up with friends – it’s up to you how you want to play!

I especially loved the Dark Zone because it combined player-versus-player combat with cooperative gameplay in a thrilling extraction system. I also really enjoyed exploring the open-world environment, discovering hidden locations, Easter eggs, and various collectibles all over New York City.

Impressive audio and visuals held back slightly by frame rate limits

The game’s graphics and sound are excellent. As someone who loves high-quality visuals, I was really impressed with how detailed everything looks, especially when played with the settings maxed out. For a mobile game, the level of detail in the world, environments, and characters is truly impressive.

I was a little let down by the game’s frame rate, which was capped at 30 or 31 frames per second even with the highest graphics settings. Having a 60 FPS option would have significantly improved the smoothness of gameplay, particularly during combat. There’s also a Special Offers section with discounted cosmetics and materials. However, I didn’t feel pressured to spend money to advance in the game until I reached the middle stages.

Cosmetics are completely up to you – you can enjoy the game without spending any money! Just by playing the different game modes and trying out the various activities, you’ll naturally earn Character XP, materials, and other currencies.

However, be aware that spending money in this game can add up quickly. The battle pass is pricier than those in popular games like Call of Duty Mobile or PUBG Mobile. Even individual skins and weapon upgrades seem expensive, and that’s coming from someone who regularly makes in-app purchases.

Overall, The Division Resurgence delivers a great shooting experience on mobile. It features smooth controls, plenty of engaging content, and impressive graphics and sound.
