The Boys creator confirms one thing you won’t see in the finale of the hit show

The fifth and final season of The Boys is almost here, arriving on Prime Video in just a few days! Expect the show’s signature mix of superhero parody, memorable moments from Anthony Starr, and some shocking scenes, but don’t anticipate one particular thing happening.

In an interview with Deadline, showrunner Eric Kripke explained that the show takes place in a dramatically changed world. He also mentioned there will be plenty of conflict, but the season won’t end with one massive battle.

“It’s Homelander’s world and, unfortunately, we’re all living in it”, he said.

Starlight is fighting back with everything she has, but the rest of The Boys have been separated. Frenchie, Mother’s Milk, and Hughie are currently held captive. We had been planning a season focused on escape and rebellion, drawing inspiration from stories of the French Resistance and daring prison breaks.

We couldn’t film large-scale battles like those in Game of Thrones due to budget limitations, but there are still plenty of intense, direct conflicts. The characters audiences are eager to see clash definitely do.

“I hope it’s cathartic and emotionally satisfying, but I’m a tiny bit terrified.”

As Kripke has indicated, the upcoming fifth season will feature people rising up to oppose Homelander. However, Billy Butcher is secretly planning something even more drastic: releasing a virus that would eliminate all people with superpowers, both the heroes and the villains.

Season 5 will bring back the stars of Supernatural – Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins – who haven’t worked together since 2020.

Jared Padalecki will return as Soldier Boy in the new series Vought Rising, which tells the story of the character’s beginnings in the 1950s. The show is scheduled to come out next year.

The Boys season 5 premieres on Wednesday, 8 April on Prime Video.

The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page tribute to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
