Sophie Kasaei expressed immense relief and happiness, saying she feels like her life is complete again now that her boyfriend, Jordan Brook, is home after a three-week hospital stay battling viral meningitis and encephalitis.
The 31-year-old reality TV star recently shared that doctors diagnosed him with inflammation of the membranes surrounding his brain and spinal cord. This condition is different from the bacterial meningitis outbreak seen in Kent.
He also developed encephalitis, a rare but severe brain inflammation that can be fatal.
After 22 days in the hospital, Jordan was released last week and able to go home to be with his pregnant girlfriend before Easter. She is 36 years old.
On Sunday, Sophie used Instagram to express how thankful she was to have him back home, admitting the previous weeks were ‘the most difficult of my life’.
The TV star, currently 30 weeks pregnant with her and Jordan’s first child, posted sweet photos of them together. The pictures show her kissing Jordan while he lovingly holds her baby bump, and the couple enjoying a home-cooked Sunday dinner.
In a touching message, she lovingly thanked her boyfriend for making a huge effort to return home to her and their soon-to-be-born baby, expressing how happy she was that they were finally reunited.
Seeing you finally leave the hospital… honestly, it felt like my entire world was restored. It was the most incredible relief, like everything was right again.
The last few weeks have been incredibly difficult, the toughest I’ve ever faced. But through it all, you kept fighting – not only for yourself, but for our family and for our baby. We were hoping you’d be home for Easter, and you made it!
Having my husband, JB, home and feeling his hand on my belly while seeing him smile again is a joy I can’t describe. We feel incredibly lucky, thankful, and complete as a family now.
She finished her sweet message with: ‘Wishing you a Happy Easter! Spend time with family and friends, relax, and appreciate the moment. Life is a wonderful thing. ❤️’
Jordan posted a comment saying he was happy to be back where he felt he belonged, but also noted he’s still working on getting fully recovered.
You know, I truly believe life is a gift, and I’m feeling so grateful to be back in a place where I feel at home. There are still challenges ahead, of course, but I’m facing them with hope and knowing we’re all in this together. It’s a beautiful thing, really. ❤️
The reality star announced to his fans that he was feeling better and able to leave the hospital on Wednesday. He shared a video showing him thanking the doctors and nurses who helped him, and happily reuniting with Sophie.
He thanked her for supporting him during his illness, and also expressed his gratitude to his parents, friends, and the staff at Basildon Hospital, who he credited with saving his life.
Jordan shared that he spent 22 days in the hospital and is dealing with memory loss from a previous stay. His doctors described his case of viral meningitis and encephalitis as one of the most severe they’ve ever encountered, involving significant brain swelling and inflammation, which led to acute memory loss.
I only remember things I wish I could erase. Let’s focus on the present instead of revisiting the past. I survived it, but I couldn’t have done it without help.
First off, Sophie and our baby boy have been my rocks and given me the strength to keep going. You both mean everything to me, and I love you more than words can say. I’m so excited to cuddle with you tonight and begin our future as a happy, healthy family of three.
Dad, I’m so incredibly grateful for everything you’ve done. You’ve always been my hero, my inspiration, and my constant support. I feel so lucky to have you, just like I did when I was a little kid looking up to my Superman. If I can be even half the father to my son that you were to me, I’ll be incredibly proud. Thank you for being there for me, especially during those tough times in the hospital – staying by my side and holding my hand meant the world. I love you, Dad – you’re my best friend.
Mom, thank you for working those long overnight shifts at the hospital while also managing everything else. It meant so much that you took care of both me and Grandpa, and you did it all without ever showing how stressed you were. You’re incredibly strong, and I love you very much.
Jordan expressed his gratitude to his extended family and friends for visiting, saying he’ll always cherish their support.
He concluded his message by expressing gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and all the staff who had become like family to him, thanking them for everything they had done and acknowledging his deep debt to them.
I’m so grateful for your kindness, understanding, and support, especially when I was going through a really difficult and frightening time. You stuck by me even when things were tough, and I truly believe you saved my life. You represent the best of the NHS and are an incredibly hardworking and compassionate person.
In earlier health reports, Jordan shared that he felt extremely sore and weakened, even struggling to walk. This physical difficulty also led to emotional challenges.
Sophie described her fear while watching him experience seizures caused by the side effects of meningitis and encephalitis, recalling a frightening period and how unexpectedly life can change.
Life changes quickly, sometimes in an instant. You can be planning your future with someone one moment, and then find yourself in a hospital, desperately hoping for the best the next.
It’s incredibly painful to watch someone I love suffer and feel helpless to fix it. Even amidst all this difficulty, knowing we have a future together – a small sign of life continuing – gives me strength and hope.
I never expected to feel so much fear and love at the same time. Life can change incredibly quickly. It’s a reminder not to take anything or anyone for granted.
I fall more in love with you every day, Jordan. This whole situation feels like a bad dream, and I keep hoping you’ll be there beside me when I wake up. I’m just so thankful you’re here and fighting for us.
‘Our little baby boy is what is keeping this family going. I love you @jordanbrook11’.
Sophie and Jordan shared the happy news that they’re expecting their first child at Christmas. This comes after a difficult two-year journey with fertility issues, including an early pregnancy loss known as a chemical pregnancy, which occurs shortly after the egg implants.
In January, the couple, who started dating in 2022, revealed they were expecting a baby boy with a lavish gender reveal party.
