Darren Day, a new grandfather, happily displayed a baby outfit meant for his grandson when he came to work on Saturday.

Actor Corey Shaw, 57, and his former partner, Susanne Shaw, 44, shared the happy news this week that their son, Corey, has become a father. He and his girlfriend, Erin, recently welcomed a baby boy.

Darren clearly beamed with pride as he arrived at the theatre on Sunday for his newest pantomime performance, looking every bit the happy family man.

Despite breaking his wrist and elbow in an accident on Friday that sent him to the emergency room, the actor seemed eager and ready to perform. He shared the news with his followers on Instagram on Sunday.

He greeted everyone and wished them a happy Easter, hoping they were enjoying a wonderful day with family and friends.

Thanks everyone for your kind messages about becoming a grandfather, and also for your concern about my broken wrist. It’s a scaphoid fracture, and I also chipped a bone in my elbow. It’s been quite painful.

Darren headed to the emergency room on Friday, believing he’d broken his arm, only a few hours before he was due to perform in a touring production of Mother Goose.

The actor shared on Instagram that they were at the emergency room with what doctors suspected were broken bones in their wrist and elbow, just over an hour before they were scheduled to perform.

For Easter, Darren is playing the villain Demon Vanity in a new production of Mother Goose, alongside Helen Flanagan (known from Coronation Street) as Princess Jill and Basil Brush as King Basil.

The actor, who has a lot of experience performing on stage, was getting ready for his second performance at Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury when the accident happened.

Helen, a co-star of Darren’s, commented on his recent Instagram post, writing, ‘You’re the best, Darren, love you lots!’

As a touring performer, I know how demanding a month on the road can be! Right now, I’m with Darren and the rest of the cast as we’re halfway through our UK tour with Anson Benson Productions. We’re really looking forward to wrapping things up with our final performance on April 19th at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax – it’s going to be a great show!

The performer recently visited the emergency room not long after he and his former partner, Suzanne, announced they had become grandparents.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I just saw the most amazing news! Suzanne from Hear’Say posted on Instagram that Corey’s girlfriend had a baby boy! A little boy named Colton! I’m seriously so happy for them, I’ve been following Corey for ages and this is just the best news ever!

Although their breakup in 2005 was difficult, the former couple now seem to be on good terms, happily posing with their new baby.

In 2003, while performing in a touring production of Summer Holiday, Darren and Shaw had an affair even though they were both engaged to others.

In 2005, the actor’s career suffered greatly after he left the singer and their seven-week-old son, Corey, on Mother’s Day. This happened while the singer was struggling with postpartum depression, and he reportedly said he wasn’t suited for family life.

Day playfully acknowledged the age difference between him and Suzi Shaw as they became grandparents, joking that he’s old enough to be a grandparent while she isn’t! He shared the sweet message, ‘Grandad loves you so much…and is actually old enough to be a Grandparent, unlike Nanny! @suzi_shaw’.

Shaw shared some heartwarming news: his son, Corey, recently became a father to a baby boy. He described the new arrival as ‘something beautiful, something true,’ and noted the baby was ‘wrapped softly in blue’.
