He jokingly admits his favorite film is from The Twilight Saga, the series that launched his career.
Okay, so I just saw The Drama – Pattinson and Zendaya are fantastic together! It’s a really dark and funny movie about a couple whose wedding plans get totally derailed when the bride drops a bombshell right before the big day. Honestly, a lot of the buzz around the film is because everyone is so excited to see Pattinson and Zendaya share the screen, and they’ve got a couple of other projects coming up – The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three in 2026! They were chatting recently, and it was funny to hear them even bring up Twilight – a blast from the past!
For a friendship quiz in GQ magazine, Robert Pattinson and Zendaya tested each other’s knowledge about themselves. When Pattinson asked Zendaya which Twilight movie he liked best, she guessed the first one. “Actually, I always preferred the second one,” he revealed. That film, 2009’s New Moon, stands out in the series because Pattinson’s character, Edward, is missing for a large portion of the movie after leaving Bella (Kristen Stewart) to keep her safe.
Robert Pattinson has often publicly disliked The Twilight Saga, both while he was starring in the films and afterward. However, he’s become more appreciative of the series and its fans in recent years, acknowledging they helped make him a star. Before Twilight brought him widespread recognition, Pattinson played a supporting role as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Even as the Twilight films continued to come out, Robert Pattinson began to move beyond young adult fantasy, taking a role in the 2011 historical drama Water for Elephants. Once the final Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn – Part 2, was released, Pattinson quickly established himself as a versatile actor, collaborating with directors Robert Eggers on The Lighthouse and Christopher Nolan on Tenet.
Robert Pattinson has built a strong career with critically praised films like The Batman, Mickey 17, The Devil All the Time, and Die My Love. He’s also appearing in the upcoming film Here Comes the Flood, directed by Fernando Meirelles, alongside Denzel Washington and Daisy Edgar-Jones. Similar to Pattinson, Zendaya started her career with projects aimed at younger viewers, but she’s since demonstrated her ability to take on a diverse range of roles and earn critical recognition.
The film The Drama received a positive score of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it opened alongside The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which was expected to be a much larger box office success. With roles in films like this, Robert Pattinson appears to have successfully moved beyond being known solely for his role in Twilight, potentially allowing him to choose projects he genuinely enjoys.
