Normal Attack Information

As a seasoned Arknights player who’s seen my fair share of commanders come and go, let me tell you about Guillotine: Winter Slayer. She’s like the snowflake that fell on a hot summer day – unexpected, yet intriguing.

The character called Guillotine: Winter Slayer has typical modifiers for her standard attacks, which makes it more challenging to boost her power. Even though she significantly increases her attack damage by 191% through her own buffs, her standard attack damage would still be less than Scarlet’s when considering all their self-buffs.

Guillotine: Winter Slayer: 13.65 x 2.91 (base ATK + self buffs of 191%) = 39.7 x 1.1 (Burst) = 43.6

Scarlet: 27.08 x 2.115 (base ATK + Self buffs at 115%) = 57.2

The Guillotine deals slightly less physical attack damage compared to Scarlet, but makes up for it by enhancing its team’s elemental damage output.

Guillotine: Winter Slayer Early Analysis

Skill 1: Hero’s Fate

Event triggers whenever EXP accumulates to 10. It impacts the character itself.

In this case, we’re looking for just an elemental boost from her; no other skills are needed. Her maximum elemental attack is 12.7%, while her ATK boost is limited to 10%.

It normally requires approximately 55 seconds for a character to fully build up their hero level, including reload time with no direct hits on the core. However, in an ideal situation where every bullet strikes the core, this stacking process can be completed in as little as 27 seconds, but it’s quite uncommon for bosses to have exposed cores.

Skill 2: Hero’s Gift

After performing six regular attacks without damaging the core, a boost is triggered which benefits the character itself.

The primary source of her damage lies in this skill. This skill can accumulate up to 100 instances, ultimately resulting in an attack boost of 181%. Importantly, these two enhancements do not operate independently; instead, they build the same buffer simultaneously.

Burst: Extermination

This ability boosts the power of all allied Water Code units by increasing their attack damage by 10.14% for 1 second, and also enhances their damage as a strong element by 18.75% for 1 second. It targets the enemy unit with the highest maximum health, dealing continuous damage equal to 20.87% of the final attack power of the hero every second for 10 seconds.

Guillotine’s burst does decent damage. at max stacks, the total damage would be:

20.87% x 11 (hero level) x 10 (Secs) = 2295% of ATK per burst

As a devoted fan, I’ve noticed that while her Attack buffs are quite impressive, they’re not quite at the level of some other high-damage single-target burst characters like Quency: Escape Queens or Phantom. She falls just short, tier-wise. Moreover, since the buffs are ongoing, it seems that sustain damage upbuffs, like Rosanna: Chic Ocean’s, don’t apply to her.

Campaign

Winter Slayer won’t work effectively as a Nikke in the Campaign. Her abilities require consistent hits on targets to boost her attack power, which then allows her to deal damage. Even if we assume that her stacked bonuses were miraculously present at the start of the game, her basic attack damage isn’t sufficient to eliminate raptures quickly enough.

The Guillotine: Winter Slayer lacks any form of utility altogether; it doesn’t generate burst or area-of-effect (AoE) damage. Additionally, there are no top-tier water campaign characters for her to boost, with Emilia being the only meta character in the campaign, but she is a limited character.

Arena

Unsatisfactory. She lacks the ability for mass generation, her burst attack targets only a single enemy, and it requires some time to deliver its full impact. Avoid using her if you’re looking for a swift or widespread effect.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Although designed primarily for commanders, she may not deal a significant amount of damage even against weak water bosses. In other words, while Guillotine: Winter Slayer might still be utilized, the overall raid score should remain relatively unaffected if players miss her banner. This is because high-damage single target DPS characters for water (Quency, Phantom) don’t benefit significantly from her team buffs due to their already high innate attack and attack damage boosts, focusing more on their native “Damage as strong element” (30%) bonus instead.

BiS Water Team for Guillotine(Water Weak)

Liter,crown,quency: escape queen,guillotine: winter slayer,ludmilla: winter owner

A more effective water team could be formed, replacing the current team with Naga acting as a better shield for the squad, since both DPSs can consistently target the core. Phantom could stand in for Ludmilla: Winter Owner when there’s no core to attack, and Emilia if multiple targets need to be addressed.

General Team

She isn’t suitable for being a neutral content slot, but she remains usable because she can inflict damage comparable to Scarlet when Guillotine: Winter Slayer is activated. However, attack buffers don’t function effectively on her due to her already robust base abilities. Instead, it’s advisable to use buffs that increase attack power (▲) and impose damage-taken debuffs.

Should you pull?

Free-to-play characters might not be the best choice, despite some reaching S-tier damage levels like Scarlet. However, numerous other characters, such as several Nikkes, can match or even surpass her damage output. This could be overlooked if there were excellent top-tier DPS characters in the water code, but currently, we only have Quency: Escape Queen, Ludmilla Winter: Owner, and Phantom. Interestingly, two of these Nikkes often prefer Naga (a wishlistable character) as a buffer instead.

For solo raid players, she’s not a priority either. But can be pulled just for that slight advantage, a lot of elemental damage rolls on her gear would be needed. She may be brought up a tier in the future if there are more water notable water Nikkes, but as of now, Guillotine: Winter Slayer is a worse Maiden: Ice Rose

The current order of importance for the banners is as follows: First, Maiden: Ice Rose; Second, Ludmilla: Winter’s Guardian; Third, Guillotine: Winter’s Executioner; Lastly, Mica: Snow Pal (please refrain from summoning).
