A man in Los Angeles was arrested this week for allegedly punching and kicking the Mercedes-Benz owned by Patrik Simpson and Pol’ Atteu, stars of the reality show “Gown and Out in Beverly Hills.” He’s been charged with felony vandalism.
The reality TV stars posted a video of the frightening incident on social media, writing, “Emergency! We need your help! We were just attacked at an intersection.”
Someone blocked our car at Melrose and Vine, then damaged it and attacked us. We’ve called the police and have his license plate on video. If you recognize this person, please contact the police right away and send me a direct message. He’s a threat, and the police are trying to find him.
On Sunday morning around 9:20 a.m., a man in a Cheech & Chong t-shirt with the message “Don’t Panic, It’s Organic” stopped his Toyota 4Runner at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Vine Street and got out of the vehicle.
Despite what the man’s shirt said, the reality TV stars did become frightened when he approached their car and violently attacked it, punching the window and kicking the door. In a video of the incident, one of them, Simpson, can be heard yelling to lock the doors and call the police. The attacker has been identified as Kevin Antonio Hernandez from Los Angeles.
Hernandez kept shouting at the group as he walked back to his car, but it was impossible to make out what he said over the loud techno music coming from Simpson and Atteu’s Mercedes. He got into his Toyota, pointed at the couple, yelled something final, and then quickly drove away.
While filming, Simpson can be heard shouting, “Go get him!” as they pursued a Toyota through Hollywood and simultaneously called 911. The video also captured their conversation with the 911 dispatcher, who repeatedly told them to stop following the vehicle.
Simpson and Atteu reported that Hernandez was with a baby in the car when the argument happened, and he drove recklessly – running red lights and stop signs – as he left the scene.
“I truly thought I was going to die there,” Atteu shared with KTLA, describing how he felt during the experience. “I’d never felt that level of fear while being out on the streets of Los Angeles.”
Police in Los Angeles arrested Hernandez on Wednesday, but he has since been released, according to The Times.
