Marvel Rivals Will Have 33 Playable Characters at Launch
As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Marvel Rivals has me buzzing like Groot after a growth spurt! With a roster boasting some of the most iconic heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe, this game promises to be nothing short of epic.
NetEase Games has unveiled that the game titled “Marvel Rivals” is set to debut with a team of 33 characters, with six remaining unnamed. The currently revealed lineup includes popular figures such as Spider-Man, Venom, Black Panther, Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Magneto, Scarlet Witch, Moon Knight, Storm, and Psylocke.
Regarding the last six characters, it’s likely that some familiar faces from the Marvel universe such as Wolverine or Deadpool would appear, considering the high-grossing success of the latest Marvel spoof film. Additionally, there are numerous other X-Men, Avengers, and even Fantastic Four members to potentially include in this group.
Marvel Rivals debuts on the 6th of December, kicking off with Season 0: The Ascension of Doom. This will be followed by Season 1 in early January 2025. The initial season is set to last for three months, introducing new characters, battlefields, game modes, and Team-Up Powers. Additionally, a battle pass filled with costumes and aesthetic items is on the horizon, but rest assured there will be no ‘pay-to-win’ features included.
