As a longtime observer and admirer of the Hough family, I find their journey truly remarkable. From their careers to their personal lives, they embody resilience, dedication, and kindness – qualities that shine through in every aspect of their lives.

Marvin Humes looks back at the challenging stint he had on “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” as the new season approaches.

Last year, the 39-year-old from the JLS band competed on the ITV survival series and was the sixth contestant to be removed.

For a span of five weeks, Marvin was separated from his wife, Rochelle Humes, as well as their three kids: Alaia (11 years old), Valentina (7 years old), and Blake (4 years old).

As the countdown to the 2024 series launch’s premiere reaches its end in a few days, Marvin has disclosed whom he intends to cast his vote for, and also shared insights into how this process affected his family life.

Marvin shared with TopMob that ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’ was the show he had always mentioned would be his choice if given the opportunity. It turned out to be ideal for him because in any other year, he wouldn’t have been able to participate due to radio and JLS obligations. However, last year, he had six weeks of free time which was perfect for this adventure.

‘I mean, it took a big toll on the family. We were away for like five weeks I think in total.’

He mentioned that he isn’t planning to participate in any extended reality shows currently. However, he left open the possibility for the future by saying, “There’s nothing on the table right now, but you never know for sure.

When questioned regarding the blend of work and family, the Kiss FM host openly admitted, “There isn’t a magical solution that we simply apply to make it work perfectly. It can indeed be challenging.

Typically, between Roch and me, one of us tends to have a heavier workload than the other. When I’m away touring with JLS, Rochelle often reduces her professional obligations, and the situation reverses when she’s busy. However, it doesn’t always go as planned. We do get assistance from our family during these periods.

To ensure constant availability, we usually take turns to be present. Occasionally, we may be together simultaneously. We’ve recently returned from a vacation during the October half term break, and it was delightful to spend some quality time together.

We’ve got our hands full with work and the children’s school activities, including after-school clubs. I yearn for that precious family time. Therefore, we strive to squeeze in as much quality time together as possible, navigating our way through the chaos. However, rest assured, we are consistently giving it our all.

Marvin, a member of the band JLS along with JB Gill, Aston Merrygold, and Oritse Williams, mentioned that his loved ones are his top priority at this point in time, with his professional life taking a secondary role.

From the moment we began until our initial conclusion in 2013, JLS held the top spot for us – it felt as though everything else took a backseat to the band. However, it’s clear that our lives have evolved since then, with our spouses and children now being our primary focus,” he explained.

Come Sunday, I’ll be glued to my screen, thrilled beyond words as Coleen Rooney, Tulisa Contostavlos, Danny Jones, and Melvin Odoom embark on their jungle adventure, live on ITV!

Concerning the 2024 lineup, Marvin shared with TopMob: “It’s fantastic! There are some truly big names in there. I can’t wait to watch it this year. After being involved for so long, it’s enjoyable to reminisce.

One friend of mine, Melvin, is among the contestants. Therefore, I wholeheartedly stand by Melvin throughout this competition. It’s true that we know other participants, but Melvin and I share a special bond with him, making it certain that he will have our votes each round.

“When it comes to food, don’t forget about basics like salt, pepper, sugar, spices, and flavorings. They can make all the difference.

“I’d suggest they simply savor this moment. Time flies, and I can see myself wishing I could re-live it now. They’re experiencing something that was incredibly challenging for me, but also the most rewarding thing I’ve encountered.

After Rochelle disclosed that she had been secretly texted by the makers of “I’m A Celebrity” while her spouse, Marvin, was in the jungle, this event occurred.

Every morning, Rochelle used to get a text message detailing the next episode’s content, enabling her to judge if the show was appropriate for her kids.

She shared with The Sun: “Every day in the morning, I received a text from the producer as a polite gesture. The text contained a brief summary of that evening’s program, allowing me to determine if it was suitable for my children to watch.

She might say something like, “She would assure me that everything is alright, which struck me as odd, another woman claiming my spouse is doing well.

Towards the finale of Marvin’s stint on the show, they experienced an unforgettable reunion, culminating in a heartfelt kiss amidst the wilderness.

She now uses the whole thing to remind herself just how much she missed him when he was away.

She added: ‘It’s a good way to add a bit of, ”Oh, my God, I actually did really miss you. I do really love you” back into your relationship!’

Marvin was just appointed as the representative for the Fairy Non Bio’s “#LoadsOfKindness” initiative, which will be celebrated on World Kindness Day, happening on November 13th.

The “Filled with Kindness” initiative, a collaboration between Fairy Non Bio* and PADDINGTON IN PERU, invites everyone to acknowledge and share kindness through posting their kind actions on social media platforms, aiming to inspire a wave of positive actions across the country.

In conversation with TopMob regarding the campaign, Marvin elaborated: “Our society can be quite peculiar at times; even platforms like social media aren’t always filled with kindness.

In today’s world, it’s essential to be mindful about the words we use. People often jump to criticize without fully understanding someone else’s situation or experiences.

Moreover, this experience seems to emphasize the significance of kindness, prompting us to pause and reflect on its importance. It’s truly heartening to see such a wonderful project materialize, with participants taking personal vows to show kindness.

As a thoughtful individual, I’ve committed myself to reach out daily to an old friend with whom I’ve fallen out of touch. Such small gestures undoubtedly contribute to making our world a more compassionate and connected place.

Fairy Non-Bio joins forces with Paddington in Peru, promoting kindness nationwide. Show your compassion by sharing your personal kindness story on social media with the hashtag #AbundantKindness.
