Star Wars clears up confusion regarding Skeleton Crew's timeline

As a die-hard Star Wars fan with over three decades of fandom under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming live-action series, Skeleton Crew. The behind-the-scenes glimpses from Empire Magazine have only fueled my anticipation.

Empire Magazine offers fans an exclusive sneak peek into the making of the upcoming Star Wars live-action series, titled “Skeleton Crew.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got some exciting news! According to ScreenRant and Empire, the upcoming series “Skeleton Crew” unfolds in parallel with “The Mandalorian” and “Ahsoka.” Previously, there were whispers that the show was set during Season 1 of “The Mandalorian,” but aligning it with Season 3 and “Ahsoka” seems more plausible. This timing opens up the possibility for appearances by characters within the same timeline, adding an extra layer of excitement to this anticipated series!

The series titled “Skeleton Crew” will chronicle the escapades of a band of children who wind up in an unfamiliar galaxy, filled with novel experiences. During their journey, they encounter a group of pirates, familiar to viewers from “The Mandalorian” Season 3, and a unique Jedi character named Jod Na Nawood, portrayed by Jude Law. The children’s home world, a serene suburban paradise, has sparked curiosity among spectators, eager to witness Star Wars’ interpretation of suburbia. However, “Skeleton Crew” also holds significant connections to the Mandoverse timeline. This series plays a crucial role in the development of both “Ahsoka” and “The Mandalorian,” and it’s possible that key characters from these shows will appear at some point.

Is it possible that Din Djarin and Grogu could unexpectedly show up in “Skeleton Crew”? While any potential cameos are kept secret, Star Wars typically doesn’t disclose them in promotional materials. However, whispers suggest that Nevarro might be one of the planets the children visit, hinting at a possible appearance by Din Djarin and Grogu. Additionally, characters from “Ahsoka,” such as Hera Syndulla, Jacen Syndulla, Zeb Orrelios, Chopper, Ezra Bridger, could potentially make an episode appearance. Filming for “Skeleton Crew” was finished before Carl Weathers’ passing, so it would be delightful to see Greef Karga on our screens if the series returns to Nevarro.

In a kids’ show about traversing diverse universes they’ve never encountered before, it’s likely there will be numerous galaxies crafted. Although fans are excited to revisit planets such as Tatooine, Coruscant, and Nevarro, it’s hoped that Skeleton Crew will transport us back to less frequently visited planets in live-action, reigniting the sense of awe and curiosity we had as children when discovering new worlds, seen through the lens of young explorers.

Skeleton Crew premieres December 3 on Disney+.
