As an ardent fan who has closely followed Mikey Pembroke’s journey since his days on Married At First Sight Australia, I must say that the poor man is having one heck of a year! From the highs of reality TV fame to the lows of a broken heart, relocating, leaving a family business, and dealing with personal family issues – it’s no wonder 2024 seems like the “year of gifts” that keeps on giving, albeit unwanted ones!

As a diligent traveler, I’ve found myself in an unexpected predicament: my passport, used in the Australian reality show “Married At First Sight,” has led to a ban on international travel due to a minor stain discovered upon it.

33-year-old television personality shared his unpleasant travel experience on Instagram Stories, posting a picture of his soiled passport as evidence.

2024 marks the year of presents for him, but there’s a problem that prevents him from traveling due to that particular symbol on his travel paperwork. He indicated this by drawing an arrow towards the issue.

While conversing with Daily Mail Australia, Mikey shared that he was en route to Bali for a four-day vacation when he was informed he couldn’t board the plane due to a skin imperfection.

Mikie stated that it appears his passport may have been damaged by water during his return journey from Las Vegas in April.

According to the laws of Australia at the federal level, a passport needs to be renewed if it shows signs of excessive wear beyond what would be considered normal.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade advises that seemingly insignificant issues with your passport could potentially prevent your travel.

‘Damage that might require you to replace your passport includes water damage, unofficial markings on the data page, missing visa pages or tears.’

As an over-the-moon fanboy, I’d say: Man, oh man! I’d be in deep trouble if I were that MAFS groom. Losing my passport means shelling out roughly $800 for a new one, and an extra grand to $1200 for fresh flight tickets. And here’s the kicker – I’d have to cut a whole day off my precious holiday! Talk about a bummer, right?

Mikey wondered if going from a 4 day break to 3 days was worth leaving the country.

The reality star admits 2024 has been ‘the toughest year’ for him.

He mentioned that he’s facing significant hurdles, recently ended a relationship, is moving to the Gold Coast, stepping down from his role in the family business after eight years, and dealing with several personal family matters.

In the year 2020, it was Mikey who gained prominence as a contestant on the seventh season of “Married At First Sight.” During this time, he was paired with Natasha Spencer in the reality TV series.

The pair had an explosive relationship and unfortunately split before the season’s end.
