In addition to the new Absolute Batman animated show, DC Studios revealed Joker: Laugh Riot, a series exploring what happens when the Joker loses his arch-enemy, Batman, and seeks revenge on his killer. And speaking of alternate universes, one comic book series really stands out as deserving its own adaptation – Tom Taylor’s Dark Knights of Steel. It’s DC’s version of an epic fantasy like Game of Thrones, filled with knights and political intrigue.

As a big fan of the show, I was really invested in Eoin Macken’s character, so it was a total shock when Davis betrayed Staten at the end of season one – especially after that seeming truce! It definitely leaves a void going into season two. But Josh Duhamel actually thinks Davis’ departure could be a good thing, giving Staten the chance to finally build the life he’s always dreamed of with Quinn O’Grady. I’m intrigued to see how that plays out!

The Forgotten Realms setting has been expanded in many ways over the years, through things like guidebooks, comics, and audio dramas. But it’s the official novels that have likely had the biggest impact. Many well-known fantasy authors have written about Dungeons & Dragons, and their work has really helped build the Forgotten Realms’ strong reputation.

The new Netflix documentary, A Toxic Love Story, is predicted to be a hit with American viewers this weekend. It tells the story of a U.S. Marshal whose seemingly perfect marriage begins to unravel when he starts receiving disturbing emails. These threats are revealed to be part of a revenge scheme orchestrated by his former partner.

Throughout its history, this show has delivered many surprising moments, but only a few truly stand out as flawlessly executed and impactful. The best twists either completely change how we understand a character’s actions or dramatically alter the story’s course. The most unforgettable reveals initially seem impossible to foresee, but looking back, they feel perfectly logical once everything clicks into place.

This week brings a flurry of exciting new releases. Levi’s starts things off with a workwear collection made from organic cotton, created in partnership with Sky High Farm Goods to promote sustainable farming. Converse is releasing Dragon Ball Z-themed Chuck Taylor sneakers with detachable charms. Oakley is bringing back a limited-edition version of its classic Juliet sunglasses, hand-picked by Travis Scott. Fans of Studio Ghibli can find beautifully designed Porco Rosso t-shirts, while Balenciaga is celebrating the Qixi Festival with romantic designs and a unique crystal-covered bag. UNIQLO UT is launching a new One Piece collection featuring artwork from the Elbaph Arc. Levi’s is also collaborating with URBAN RESEARCH on a four-piece denim line with different styles and fits. Finally, HUMAN MADE’s Buffer label is paying tribute to the classic animated film The Land Before Time with nostalgic t-shirts designed like souvenirs from a dinosaur theme park.

Two new games, Shift at Midnight and Tears of Metal, launched on July 22nd. Shift at Midnight is a horror game with a classic survival horror look and is available on consoles and PC for Xbox Game Pass members. Tears of Metal is currently only playable on PC.
