Mariah Carey goes on epic rant about ‘hideous’ overhead lighting on Las Culturistas
As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Mariah Carey’s recent rant about overhead lighting has struck a chord with me. I completely understand her frustration as an artist who values good lighting to bring out the best in her appearance. It’s not just about vanity, but also about creating the right atmosphere and mood for her craft.
Mariah Carey went on an incredible and hilarious rant about overhead lighting.
55-year-old, top-charting musician, fresh from re-creating her famous “All I Want For Christmas Is You” photoshoot, made an appearance on the widely recognized Las Culturistas podcast with hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang, expressing displeasure over harsh lighting.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but gush over that dynamic duo who host my favorite segment titled “I Can’t Agree with You There, Sweetheart.” During this electrifying part of their show, they grant their esteemed guests the liberating freedom to vent unabashedly about any topic they please, for an exhilarating minute. It’s pure bliss!
Mariah pulled no punches as she said: ‘I can’t with the overhead lighting.
‘Why do they do it to us? I shouldn’t say us, it’s not us, it’s me.’
The singer continued hilariously describing her agony by listing out the places which have overhead lighting.
She mentioned that she finds the harsh lighting particularly bothersome in places like elevators, doorways, and gyms (even though she doesn’t actually go to the gym), just to clarify.
The lighting is quite unpleasant. However, during sunset, it’s not so bad; I’d be happy to step outside, perhaps wear a hat for some shade, and enjoy the beautiful effect of the sunlight kissing my skin.
After praising natural lighting she finished off her diatribe in epic form.
Mariah suggested caution is needed since it’s potentially harmful, however, she’s not sure about the use of overhead lighting.
Could you kindly desist from this habit? Whenever I enter a room, I find the lights have been turned on and it’s quite unsettling for me. I would appreciate it if we could keep the lights off when possible, as they seem to cause discomfort for me.
Recently, only a few days have passed since she honored her timeless Christmas anthem, All I Want For Christmas Is You, which was first released 30 years ago.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the renowned “Music Sensation” and “Queen of Christmas” is bringing back her hit song, and for the single’s cover, she has reproduced the original photoshoot from the track.
On Wednesday, Carey posted two cover designs on her Instagram, one of them bearing a strong similarity to the initial photograph.
The revamped vinyl sleeve presents a fresh take on the initial photo shoot, where Mariah was dressed in a suit resembling Santa Claus, posing amidst the snow.
In the latest version, Goldie Hawn, aged 55, can be seen wearing a suit resembling red, while she sits in a relaxed position on an inviting fur couch.
Mariah mentioned in her caption: ‘Although it’s certainly not the season for Christmas tunes just yet, I couldn’t resist giving you a sneak peek of #MerryChristmas30!’
Paying tribute to the initial album artwork, here are the cover designs for two out of the four upcoming “All I Want For Christmas Is You” vinyl singles. Pre-orders are now open if you’d like to secure a copy.
In the second slide of her carousel, Mariah’s photo showcases the actress beaming happily while dressed elegantly in a white, slit gown against a backdrop of a snow-covered tree.
That particular cover is set to be for the cassette.
The remaining two other album covers have yet to be unveiled.

In August, Mariah announced she will be going on tour during the holiday season.
From early November through mid-December, the songbird plans to visit 20 cities to mark this significant achievement with her audience by performing live.
