Well, well, well! It appears that our dear friends at Metaplanet, the ever-optimistic Japanese Bitcoin treasury company, have decided to don their rose-tinted spectacles and expect a rather splendid 5.8 billion yen-oh, do try to contain your excitement-equating to a charming $58 million in revenue for the year 2025. How delightful! And as if that weren’t enough to tickle your fancy, they’re predicting an operating profit of about $40 million. One can almost hear the clinking of champagne glasses!
But wait, there’s more! If you can believe it, 2026 is poised to be even more dazzling, with revenue expectations soaring to around $103 million and an operating profit that might just reach the stars at approximately $73 million. One does wonder, however, if they’ve consulted a crystal ball or merely plucked these figures from the ether.
Alas, dear reader, there’s always a catch, isn’t there? As the melodrama unfolds, a decline in Bitcoin prices threatens to overshadow their glittering projections, triggering non-cash impairment charges ranging from $680 to $700 million in 2025. Oh, the irony! Just when one thinks they’ve struck gold, the universe conspires to deliver a rather hefty loss. Quite the plot twist, wouldn’t you say?
To add to the intrigue, Metaplanet’s Bitcoin stash has reportedly swelled to a staggering 35,102 coins. Bravo! One can only hope they’re not using them as coasters at their next soirée.
