As a seasoned gamer with memories of countless hours spent battling it out in the digital warzones of Battlefield 3, 4, and Hardline, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia tinged with a twist of sadness. The news that EA is shutting down the servers for these games feels like the end of an era. I remember the thrill of those close-quarters combat maps, the adrenaline rush as I stormed through Operation 925, and the camaraderie of my virtual squadmates.
EA has announced that it will be turning off the servers for four games, including three Battlefield titles, on their respective Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms by November. These games were previously removed from its schedule back in July.
Beyond this, it’s important to note that the online servers for NBA Live 18 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be deactivated, as well as the online services and features for FIFA 22. Consequently, any achievements tied to the online aspects of these games will no longer be attainable following the server shutdowns next month.
On the 7th of November, the online services for games such as Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, Battlefield: Hardline (all available on Xbox 360 and PS3), and NBA Live 18 (on Xbox One and PS4) will be shut down. Meanwhile, the online features of FIFA 22 will cease to function starting from the 4th of November.
