Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Difficulty Level Will Change to Match Your Chosen Control Style

As a long-time fan who has spent countless hours sneaking through jungles and outsmarting enemies in the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation about the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid Delta. On one hand, the option to switch between Legacy Style and New Style control schemes is intriguing, offering a chance to revisit the classic gameplay while also potentially making it more accessible for newcomers.

While we continue to eagerly anticipate the launch date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, more and more tidbits of information are trickling out regarding the upcoming remake of the 2004 original, such as this intriguing detail about the challenge level adapting to your selected control style.

If you prefer sticking to traditional gameplay, the “Legacy Style” will keep Metal Gear Solid 3’s classic top-down view and familiar controls, along with maintaining its original level of challenge. Essentially, it will feel like the same game from twenty years ago when it comes to gameplay.

In the new playstyle, you can engage in a more conventional third-person viewpoint, allowing Naked Snake to both move and shoot simultaneously using an updated control system. This modern control scheme was found to make gameplay easier by developers, but they plan to increase the challenge when playing with the New Style option.

Essentially, after selecting either Legacy or New Style, you can’t switch mid-game. It’s important to note that the New Style might facilitate the discovery of both traditional kerotan frogs and newly added secret collectibles.

In addition to Metal Gear Solid Delta, improvements have been made like a swift function for camouflage that eliminates the need to frequently switch between menus to alter face paint or similar aspects. Furthermore, there’s a visual filter that recreates the original game’s color scheme.

The game titled “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater” is set to arrive on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms, yet the rumored GameStop-leaked release date in November seems increasingly uncertain.
