They showcased their prowess in this year’s competition by securing the PCS title with an impressive undefeated record of six victories and no defeats. Match Recap: PSG Talon vs. paiN Gaming

Delve into our summary of PSG Talon’s triumphant highlights: In their opening game, paiN Gaming sparked optimism for advancement with an impressive display, but their defeat only fueled PSG’s resilience.

LoL Worlds 2024 Play-In, PSG Talon vs paiN Gaming: The victory is Taiwanese!

Match 1

Many spectators were taken aback as the game’s initial stages saw an evenly matched contest between both teams, with PSG Talon attempting to overpower paiN Gaming’s top laner Wizer, but their efforts proved futile as Wizer’s Jax character emerged unscathed. At the 11-minute mark, Wizer claimed the first blood and proceeded to eliminate five Voidgrubs along with the Infernal Drake, effectively dismantling the notion that PSG Talon would dominate the Brazilian team.

Despite paiN consistently securing all the objectives at hand, PSG Talon maintained command over the game. It was a methodical, patient match that required concentration. Each kill, each objective furthered their lead, while PSG seemed unable to respond. The momentum was clearly with paiN, who were playing aggressively, and it appeared the control of the game was slipping away from PSG. However, Alexandre “TitaN” Lima dos Santos’s stunning triple kill ignited both his team and the Brazilian audience, adding another thrilling moment to the game.

Despite seemingly insurmountable obstacles, paiN Gaming managed to secure victory in the initial match. The spectators’ enthusiasm was palpable, leading some to join the commentator in a dance celebration. This electrifying scene took place within the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany.

Match 2

In a distinct atmosphere, PSG Talon didn’t show up to simply compete – they arrived with the intention of annihilating their opponents. From the get-go, PSG’s jungler Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia, employing Skarner, secured a double kill. This aggressive play created chaos for paiN, leaving them struggling to keep up. There was no room for slow, tactical games – this was a full-scale battle.

Initially, a whirlwind of action characterized the opening 15 minutes, as PSG asserted their dominance and became increasingly formidable. It was challenging for paiN to navigate out of this demanding predicament. Empowered by determination, PSG ruled the League of Legends Worlds Play-In with an air of certainty, striding forward with confidence. They were convinced they had it sewn up.

Match 3

Everyone was feeling the adrenaline. What was coming next? Another great performance from PSG Talon or a turnaround for paiN Gaming? Then, Huang “Azhi” Shang-Jhih locked in Vayne. That pick made Wizer’s Gnar suffer in lane. Totally unplayable!

Initially, PSG played aggressively with a clear intention to emerge victorious. However, despite the struggles in the top lane, paiN secured the first blood on the bottom lane. The coordination between Marcos “Cariok” Oliveira’s Lee Sin and Choi “Kuri” Won-yeong’s Alistar was instrumental in giving TitaN an upper hand with his Ashe. Moreover, paiN consistently focused on completing objectives, and within nine minutes, they had completed all of them.

PSG was struggling due to limited options, but securing the Rift Herald was crucial for them to rebuild their confidence and regain control of the game. They were determined. At the same time, Maple on Akali was virtually indestructible.

The game began to turn unfavorably for paiN, and they found no further strategies to secure a win. Even after Maple’s Akali was defeated, PSG Talon’s team eliminated every player from paiN Gaming, ultimately ending the match. In the end, it was clear that PSG Talon was the superior team, securing the victory.

PSG Talon will now play against MAD Lions KOI on Sept. 27.
