Colter Shaw’s team is getting a new permanent member.
It’s safe to say that Tracker has changed a lot in its few seasons. It feels like the show undergoes some kind of refresh every year, though Justin Hartley’s character always remains the focus. Despite all these changes, Tracker hasn’t lost its audience and is currently the most-watched show on television for the 2025-2026 season.
Following his role in This Is Us, Justin Hartley returned to television with Tracker. The show quickly became a hit when it debuted in 2024, surpassing NCIS to become the most-watched program on TV in its first season. Each episode features Colter Shaw solving a new case, locating a missing person, object, or animal. Though he often works alone in the field, Colter receives support from a team based remotely, including Reenie, played by Fiona Rene, and Randy, played by Chris Lee.
With season 3 of Tracker nearing its conclusion, Chris Lee has been promoted to a series regular, according to Deadline. Lee first appeared late in season 2 as Randy, Bobby’s cousin, providing tech support while Bobby Graise dealt with a personal issue. He continued in that role as Bobby stepped away from his work with Colter this season.
Prior to the fall 2025 premiere of Tracker season 3, Abby McEnany and Graise were confirmed to be leaving their roles as Velma and Bobby after two years with the show. They had both been part of Colter’s team since the beginning, providing support as his handler and tech expert. This followed the earlier departure of Robin Weigert as Teddi, leaving Hartley and Rene as the only original cast members from the pilot still appearing on Tracker.
Since joining the show, Randy has essentially stepped into Bobby’s position on Tracker. Despite being a key member of Colter’s team – even strengthening his bond with Reenie by sharing her office and working closely with her – he was previously considered a supporting character. Now that he’s officially a main cast member, it makes you wonder if this signals a larger role for him. Tracker often explores personal stories involving Colter’s friends and colleagues, and it seems like Randy’s is coming up soon.
CBS has ordered another season of Tracker, and it looks very likely that actor Justin Lee will be back when the show returns in the fall, even though a lot could change over the summer. If Lee and co-star Rene continue in their roles, it would be a first for Tracker – the entire main cast would be returning for the next season.
