Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns teaming sets stage for interesting storytelling

As a long-time wrestling enthusiast who’s witnessed the highs and lows of WWE storylines, I must say that the upcoming SmackDown match between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns is a thrilling prospect. The intricate tapestry of their on-screen rivalries has been a rollercoaster ride, much like my own emotional journey through life.

In the September 13 episode of WWE SmackDown, the scene was set for a significant showdown at Bad Blood. Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns will join forces to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. The title reign of Cody Rhodes has been somewhat overshadowed by The Bloodline, leading to criticisms from fans about his tenure as the champion. However, this match could mark the beginning of an exciting twist not just for the four participants, but also for those connected to this storyline.

Over the course of two years, Cody Rhodes’ narrative has taken some contentious turns and unexpected twists, but it shouldn’t come as a shock that Rhodes is now working alongside Reigns. Behind the scenes, The Rock is preparing to emerge as the one challenging Reigns for the title of The Tribal Chief. However, there’s still a lot more storyline development to take place before then. This phase will strengthen the bond between Rhodes and Reigns, but eventually lead to a rift between Rhodes and his other allies, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins (The Bloodline) are joining forces to confront a common adversary in their upcoming encounter. This alliance marks a shift from the numerous battles Rhodes fought alongside Orton and Owens, who were by his side through thick and thin. Over the years, both Rhodes and Rollins have endured the wrath of Reigns and his followers. In retribution for the repeated injustices inflicted upon him, Rhodes granted Owens a title shot. On-screen, Orton has seen significant setbacks in his career due to attacks from The Bloodline. With understandable resentment, both Orton and Rollins may feel betrayed by Rhodes for choosing to side with Reigns rather than letting him bear the consequences of his own actions.

It’s intriguing to watch how WWE will develop this plotline over time, spanning approximately ten weeks. The event Bad Blood takes place on October 5, followed by Crown Jewel on November 2 and Survivor Series: WarGames on November 30. This extended period allows for a more detailed narrative unfolding, making the upcoming professional wrestling and entertainment even more captivating. WWE is deliberately pacing its storytelling to give this angle ample time to develop before any major twists occur.

In a more natural and easier-to-understand way, the outstanding work Rhodes has accomplished outside of The Bloodline during his reign has been the most impressive aspect. This upcoming chapter suggests that the two worlds may intertwine more closely.
