As a gamer with a keen interest in history and a soft spot for powerful narratives, I am utterly thrilled by the upcoming release of “The Six Triple Eight” on Netflix! Having grown up watching Kerry Washington’s exceptional performances in shows like “Scandal,” it’s fascinating to see her take on a role that showcases a lesser-known yet impactful chapter of history.
Netflix unveiled the initial preview for Kerry Washington’s upcoming film, “The Six Triple Eight”, which stars Scandal fame, setting a confirmed release date.
Tyler Perry’s latest film narrates a genuine account, being the first and sole Women’s Army Corps unit of color that served abroad during World War II.
The broadcaster has made it official that the film will become available on our streaming platform towards the end of this year, specifically on December 20th. Prior to this, it will have been screened at certain UK movie theaters starting from December 6th.

According to the summary, The Six Triple Eight tells the tale of a Women’s Army Corps unit who, despite encountering racism, sexism, and harsh working conditions, remained dedicated to serving their country with honor and distinction. Assigned an extraordinary task and bound by their determination, these unsung heroines brought hope and broke down barriers.
According to the trailer, the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion were assigned the challenging task of clearing a three-year pile-up of undelivered mail for American troops stationed away from home. Remarkably, they managed to accomplish this mission in just under 90 days.
In the trailer, Washington’s Captain Charity Adams states, “Many people don’t wish for our success. We have the greatest reason to show what we can achieve.”

In this production, Washington takes center stage as Major Charity Adams, leading the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. Alongside her are Oprah Winfrey and Dean Norris, who are also part of the cast.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that I’m part of an exceptional team producing this project. Joining forces with Nicole Avant, Angi Bones, Tony L Strickland, Keri Selig, and Carlota Espinosa, we’re making this vision come to life. Notably, Peter Guber and Washington are taking on the executive producer roles, lending their expertise and guidance to our endeavor. It’s an honor to be part of such a stellar team!
