Sonic The Hedgehog 3 trailer finds the title character facing the nefarious Shadow voiced by Keanu Reeves
As a longtime fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, growing up with the blue blur and his fast-paced adventures, I am beyond excited for the upcoming sequel, Sonic 3! The trailer has me hooked, and I can’t wait to see Ben Schwartz, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and Idris Elba reprise their roles as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Keanu Reeves adds a fantastic new dimension to the franchise as the menacing Shadow!
In the latest preview for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, produced by Paramount, the world-renowned hedgehog employs his quick abilities to ward off a sinister new adversary.
In a reprisal of his role, Ben Schwartz lends his voice once more to the cherished protagonist in both the 2020 release of Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which came out in 2022.
In the eagerly awaited sequel, Colleen O’Shaughnessey resumes her role as Tails, while Idris Elba reprises his part as Knuckles once again.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d suggest uniting forces against the enigmatic figure known as The Shadow, a recently introduced malevolent character brought to life by the captivating voice of Keanu Reeves.
Paramount has scheduled the movie for release on December 20th, which coincides with Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King in cinemas.
1. In the opening scene, Tom Wachowski (played by James Marsden) says to Sonic, “At last, you’ve discovered your kin,” while we see snapshots of Tails and Knuckles on screen.
Tom remarks, “Despite the fact that things haven’t always been a breeze for you, you’ve never altered who you are inside,” he says, gesturing towards Sonic’s chest. Jokingly, he adds, “I mean, in my perspective, it’s your spirit or your heart.”
The trailer cuts to a prison as a military man says there has been, ‘a high-level security breach, and we need Team Sonic’s immediate assistance.’
As the military personnel announces that Project Shadow surpasses any challenge they’ve previously faced, the ominous Shadow emerges from its shattered confinement.
The soldier remarks, “Shadow’s journey started much like yours, Sonic, but instead of finding love and companionship, all he encountered was sorrow and heartache.”
As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement as I watch Sonic and Tails soar through the skies in a whirring helicopter. With a sparkle in his eyes, Sonic exclaims, “Alright, we’ve got an intergalactic troublemaker on the run! How do we track it down?”
Just then, an explosion happens in the city as Tails suggests ‘Start with the giant fireball?’
“I’m really fond of this,” Sonic exclaims, as he, Tails, and Knuckles jump from the helicopter, ready to dive into action. And with that, they launch the operation with the colossal fireball.
At last, they confronted Shadow, and Knuckles acknowledged, “He’s far more imposing than the hedgehog I battled before,” at which point Sonic understood it was indeed him.
Sonic replies, “I’m just a step away,” as Shadow, after a while, responds, “You all seem quite vibrant.”
Sonic emphatically states, ‘We have no intention of engaging in a battle with you,’ while Knuckles counters by expressing his desire for a fight, saying, ‘On the contrary, Sonic, I’d be up for a scrap with you.’
Knuckles dashes towards Shadow but he easily takes care of him, along with Sonic and Tails as well.
The trailer shows more of Shadow’s destruction as Sonic admits, ‘He’s too powerful,’ adding, ‘I can’t believe I’m saying this… but we need you know who,’ referring to his old enemy, Doctor Robotnik (Jim Carrey).
As the brave threesome encounters him, the document-holder appears slightly unkempt, heavier in build, and accompanied by Agent Stone (Lee Majdoub).
In response to Sonic asking for aid, Stone proceeds with cleaning him up, and in agreement, Sonic consents. Meanwhile, Robotnik ponders that if he can’t conquer the world, perhaps saving it would be an alternative.
As Sonic faces off against Shadow, Shadow replies, ‘Once we’re through, nothing will remain,’ prompting Sonic to question Shadow about his actions. Shadow responds, ‘I did what was necessary.’
The trailer winds down with a shot of Sonic and Shadow on a collision course, with the final shot showing Dr. Robotnik meeting his own father.
