Deadpool & Wolverine deleted scene confirms Gambit’s fate

As a long-time fan who’s been following the X-Men saga since the comic books days, I must say that the latest Deadpool & Wolverine movie has truly outdone itself! The cameo of Gambit, played by Channing Tatum, was a delightful surprise and a testament to the resilience of this fan-favorite character.

Deadpool & Wolverine spoilers follow.

In an unused sequence from the movie “Deadpool and Wolverine,” it has been revealed how Channing Tatum’s character, Gambit, meets his end – a revelation that remained unclear in the original film release.

In the third installment of the Deadpool series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) united forces to thwart a formidable menace, the wicked Cassandra Nova (portrayed by Emma Corrin), who posed a serious threat.

Throughout the universe, where brutal, profane actions unfolded in a graphic manner, there were ample opportunities for familiar faces to reappear. The movie lived up to expectations by incorporating brief appearances of well-known personalities in special guest roles.

After earlier plans for Channing Tatum’s portrayal of Gambit in a solo movie failed, he ultimately brought the character to life in Deadpool 3 & Wolverine. Joining him in this resistance group are Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Wesley Snipes reprising his role as Blade.

Following what appeared to be his demise within The Void, a scene after the credits unveiled that Gambit had miraculously survived the operation. However, due to the fact that the evidence of his survival was displayed only on a tiny screen in the backdrop, it was quite challenging to discern.

To give fans a complete tale, Reynolds posted the video on his Instagram, depicting Tatum’s Gambit strolling past numerous deceased individuals. As the music builds, he flashes a smile at the camera.

“*Murmurs* Marvel’s Sparkling Circle,” Reynolds posted as a caption. “#DeadpoolAndWolverine ❤️💛 @slevydirect @channingtatum #Gambit *A snippet of this scene is featured in the movie, glimpsed on one of the monitors in the TVA backdrop.* #IAmAboutToMakeABigImpactHere.”

If Gambit lives on, there could be a chance for Tatum to play the character again in the future. In fact, he has expressed interest, stating: “I certainly hope so. May it be so, if you will. Create it, bring it to life, dear friend. I implore you.”

“Indeed, I’ve made that clear before. For a decade now, I’ve expressed my desire for it. The decision lies with Bob Iger and Kevin Feige at Disney and Marvel. I can only hope for the best.”

Deadpool & Wolverine is now playing in cinemas.
