How to Unlock All Secret Locations in Black Myth: Wukong

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating open worlds and battling formidable foes, I must say that Black Myth: Wukong has truly captured my attention. The intricate blend of Chinese mythology and soulslike gameplay is nothing short of captivating.

Explore Black Myth: Wukong, an action RPG inspired by the timeless Chinese novel Journey to the West, with a twist reminiscent of FromSoftware’s games. This game has intricate secrets skillfully concealed within its expansive world. Discover methods to unveil hidden gems scattered across the open world of Wukong in our guide.

In the opening three chapters and chapter four of the primary narrative, you’ll discover hidden spots. Each of these hidden areas houses an exceptionally powerful boss, fighting which is quite difficult. If by chance you overlook one of the secret spots, you can revisit it through the Guardians’ sanctuaries. If you’ve already defeated the main antagonist, opt for the “Continue” choice to return to Wukong’s open world. However, avoid choosing the “Enter a New Cycle” option in the main menu as this will initiate a “New Game +”, erasing your current save file.

Ancient Guanyin Temple

This location can be opened in the very first chapter. You need to ring three bells.

First Bell: In the Forest of Wolves, find a fast travel point called Outside the Forest.

From that point, make your way following the path on the left until you reach the wooden bridge, then continue along the torch-lit road. This route leads you to the arena where boss Guangzhi awaits, appearing as a wolf with a staff. Overcome him and sound the bell once defeated.

Second bell: In Bamboo Grove you need the Snake Trail teleport point.

Turning your back on the sanctuary, take a left and navigate over the stones toward the river. On your right side, notice a trail that takes you into a grove of bamboo. Walk along the paved path all the way to its end, and it’ll guide you to a character known as Guanmou. Overcome them in battle, then approach the bell nearby to interact with it.

Third Bell: In the same Bamboo Grove, find a fast travel point called Marsh of White Mist.

After overcoming the boss, Whiteclad Noble, you’ll gain access. Proceed along the left route and when you spot a vast cavern, that’s where you’ll find another bell.

Once you’ve rung each of the three bells, you’ll find yourself transported to a destination known as the Ancient Guanyin Temple.

As a determined gamer, I’ve got my sights set on Elder Jinchi. Once I take him down, I’ll inspect the corpse nearby to grab the Fireproof Mantle. This cloak will be a lifesaver in my battle against the first chapter’s final boss, as I’ll need it to shield myself from his fierce flames.

Kingdom of Sahali

In the second chapter, you’ll encounter a boar that appears to be intoxicated. You can find it at Fright Cliff, which is not far from the Rockrest Flat shrine.

Moving on directly from here, you’ll come across a tiny field. In this field, you’ll find an animal in a state of intoxication. To unlock the hidden zone, you must assist it by completing its mission or quest.

Following your conversation with the boar, make your way towards the Yellow Wind Formation. To reach there, you’ll need to find a Teleportation Spot named Windrest Bridge.

Head over to the opposite side, then veer left toward the residential area. Enter the structure on your right when you arrive, and inside, look for a golden barrel. Smash it open and retrieve the Sobering Stone.

1. Approach the boar, have a conversation with him as it’s crucial to listen to his entire message. Go through the discussions until they begin to repeat.

Then head to the Crouching Tiger Temple. You want a shrine called Temple Entrance.

Inside the store, pick up a Jade Lotus. Ascend the stairway and proceed into the second corridor on your right. That’s where you’ll encounter the tipsy creature once more. Hand over the blossom to him and engage in conversation about any subjects at hand.

Head back to the spot where your first encounter with the boar happened. At this very location, you’ll find a squire adorned in a yellow robe (Yellow-Robbed Squire). Overpower him, and then accompany the tipsy fellow to the grand gate. This route will lead you to the clandestine hideout of the Sahali Kingdom.

Your objective is to ascend the peak where the individual stands. Engage him in conversation, and subsequently conquer the boss known as Fuban. Overcoming him will grant you the Wind Tamer, an exceptional weapon particularly effective against airborne bosses.

Purple Cloud Mountain

To get to this secret area, you need to defeat the Venom Daoist. To do this, head to the Webbed Hollow location, to the Pool of Shattered Jade shrine.

Proceed on the trail until you spot a spider’s silken casing. Tap it. Following this action, a character for whom you must engage in battle will emerge. Unfortunately, you won’t be victorious against him as he’ll flee instead.

As a gamer, I’d say: “To locate that pesky monster once more, I need to head back to the Court of Illumination’s teleport spot, hidden within the Temple of the Yellow Blossom.”

Starting from the sanctuary, retrace your steps and sprint down the trail. When you reach the crossroads, veer left and continue till you encounter a cinematic sequence featuring the boss. Defeat him thoroughly, afterwards approach the wall situated behind him to interact with it.

You’ll find yourself headed to the Purple Cloud Peak, where two leaders lie in wait. The Scorpionlord is secreted away to the right side of the entrance, while the Duskveil resides at the summit.
