Robert Irwin reveals the animal he’s targeting now… after crocodile accident nearly made him miss the Logies
As a devoted follower of wildlife conservation and the Irwin family’s extraordinary work, witnessing Robert Irwin‘s journey has been nothing short of captivating. From his early days growing up under the tutelage of Steve, to his own brave encounters with some of Earth’s most magnificent creatures, Robert has proven time and again that he carries on his father’s legacy with unwavering passion.
Wildlife warrior Robert Irwin is known for getting up-close-and-personal with crocodiles.
However, it seems that the 20-year-old is keeping a distance from the big creatures, possibly due to his recent close encounter with risk at the Logies event.
On Sunday, Robert shared a photo that showed him getting very close with a unique croc species.
Initially, he appeared incredibly brave, sitting unshod beside the beast, with only a few centimeters separating his hand from its massive form.
Upon a second look, it became clear that the crocodile was actually one of Robert’s handmade sculptures, fashioned from sand.
Title for Robert’s Post: Robert humorously pointed out that managing this particular species is a breeze compared to tracking down some of its evasive relatives.
‘The old sand croc,’ Robert wrote. ‘These ones are easier to catch.’
Robert’s fans were quick to comment on the post, with Wiggles founding member Greg Page chiming in.
‘And a lot less dangerous I reckon,’ the yellow Wiggle replied.
Another fan chimed in with a similar: ‘Are they though? I hear the sand crocs always slip through your fingers.’
Many noticed the strong likeness between Robert and his deceased father Steve, who tragically lost his life in 2006 following an encounter with a short-tailed stingray in the Great Barrier Reef, where he was filming.
Robert experienced a bizarre, crocodile-related mishap mere hours prior to the 2024 Logie Awards.
The wildlife warrior revealed details of his brush with death while chatting to Dr Chris Brown, 45, and Sonia Kruger, 58, on the red carpet last week at The Star in Sydney.

Sonia questioned the young wildlife champion if he was thrilled to spend the night wide awake, just before he shared his close call prior to the Logies.
‘I just came straight in from catching crocodiles up north,’ he began.
Afterward, Robert elaborated on the perilous occurrence, explaining the actions he implemented to rectify it before walking the red carpet.
‘I just got my head smashed into a tree,’ he said nonchalantly.
He shared that he was perched atop a crocodile’s head, a challenging makeup task, but he’s thrilled and we’re all amped up for it. What makes it even better is that I get to share this experience with one of my closest friends, which is simply fantastic. This was his comment as he stood beside his I’m A Celebrity co-host Julia Morris.

It was whispered that the famous conservationist would likely bring his mother Terri Irwin to the private gathering, but he surprised everyone by arriving with his fellow IAC cast member, Julia, instead.
People on social media swiftly shared their thoughts about Robert’s dating decision, humorously expressing their shock that his mother Terri allowed him to go without her accompaniment.
1. “One fan humorously remarked, ‘He traded Helicopter Mom for TV Mom,'” another said, “It’s surprising that TV-Mom allowed Robert to go alone.” (This version maintains the joking tone and conveys the same information.)
“I find that interesting,” someone added. “Generally, he always brings his mom with him, even on trips to the jungle.”
‘Bet mummy wasn’t happy,’ another user wrote.
