Imaginary (2024)

Starz release date: Sept. 4, 2024

In many childhoods, an imaginary friend is a part of life. But imagine if that imaginary companion wasn’t as benevolent as you thought. What if it held a grudge against you for leaving it behind when you grew up? Now, it’s seeking revenge on you and those dear to you. This is the predicament faced by the main character in “Imaginary“. The cast includes DeWanda Wise, Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Pyper Braun, and Veronica Falcón.

Here’s the film’s synopsis via the Lionsgate official website:

When Jessica moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.

Don’t Breathe (2016)

Starz release date: Sept. 15, 2024

In the movie “Don’t Breathe,” we join three daring burglars attempting to rob a blind man’s house for his supposed wealth. However, they quickly discover that this seemingly helpless man is a highly trained war veteran with extraordinary skills, forcing them into a desperate struggle for survival. The main cast includes Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, Daniel Zovatto, and Stephen Lang.

Knock at the Cabin (2023)

Starz release date: Sept. 24, 2024

As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that M. Night Shyamalan, an Academy Award nominee, brings us “Knock at the Cabin.” This chilling tale is adapted from Paul G. Tremblay’s 2018 horror novel, “The Cabin at the End of the World.” The movie unfolds as a family of three, enjoying a peaceful vacation in a forest cabin, finds themselves in a terrifying situation. Four mysterious individuals seize them, compelling them to face a heart-wrenching dilemma: either sacrifice themselves or save humanity’s future.

As a longtime fan of both film and theater, I have been fortunate to witness some truly extraordinary performances throughout my life. However, few ensembles compare to the one I recently encountered: Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Kristen Cui, Abby Quinn, and Rupert Grint. Each of these talented actors brings a unique energy and depth to their roles that creates an electrifying dynamic on screen. With such a diverse and gifted cast, it’s no wonder this production is generating so much buzz in the industry. I eagerly await seeing their collective talent unfold in what promises to be a truly captivating performance.

The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024)

Starz release date: Sept. 30, 2024

From my perspective, diving into “The Strangers: Chapter 1,” I found myself following the journey of a young couple eager to celebrate their five-year anniversary with a cross-country road trip. However, this idyllic getaway took a chilling turn when they found themselves stranded in a remote town, where they crossed paths with three masked individuals who seemed to take pleasure in terrorizing them.

In this production, Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez take on the roles of a youthful romantic pair. Alongside them in the ensemble are Gabriel Basso, Ema Horvath, Ella Bruccoleri, Rachel Shenton, Richard Brake, and Joplin Sibtain.

Be sure to check out these horror movies when they land on Starz this September!
