Six Flags Fright Fest to feature an immersive Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunt
As a die-hard horror enthusiast who’s seen more slasher films than I can count, I can barely contain my excitement for this year’s Six Flags Fright Fest! With the Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted maze on the roster, it’s like a dream come true. I still remember the chilling bus scene from the 2022 film and the sheer terror it induced. Now, I get to relive that experience in real life (or as close to real life as it gets)!
Delve into one of the nation’s most extensive Halloween attractions at this year’s Six Flags Fright Fest. This chilling event promises an unforgettable experience with 11 haunted mansions and 9 frightening zones designed to send shivers down your spine!
Among the exciting offerings for 2024 includes a chilling maze inspired by the Netflix and Legendary 2022 horror movie “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. Although the film garnered mixed opinions from both critics and viewers, there’s one particular scene that continues to generate conversation – the bus scene, where the infamous Leatherface takes over a bus and brutally murders most of its passengers.
As a gamer, I’m totally hyped about the fresh snaps of the upcoming Fright Fest! It seems they’re cooking up their very own take on that iconic game prop. Can’t wait to get my adrenaline pumping!
Visitors will have an opportunity to explore the eerie, overlooked town of Harlow, a seemingly peaceful corner of Texas that hides many unsettling mysteries; a location where one might unexpectedly encounter Leatherface.
In this labyrinth, guests assume the role of Harlow visitors, triggering events that lead to encounters with Leatherface. As they traverse the location, fans can immerse themselves in iconic moments from the movie, such as the sunflower field, the grueling “crawl of death,” the eerie “dead street,” and the barn. The maze concludes with a climactic confrontation against Leatherface himself.
“Amado Trevino, Director of Interactive Media & Experiences at Legendary Entertainment, announced that we are excited to collaborate with Six Flags for the inaugural haunted maze event based on Netflix’s and Legendary’s 2022 version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Get set for an extraordinary, pulse-racing journey filled with terrifying scares and exhilarating thrills that won’t spare you!”
As a thrill-seeking gamer, I can’t wait to dive into the chilling worlds of more than just Texas Chainsaw Massacre this year at the Fright Fest! They’ve got realms inspired by Army of the Dead, Stranger Things, Trick ‘r Treat, The Conjuring, and even the spine-tingling Saw franchise! However, it’s essential to remember that these mazes and haunted houses might differ depending on the theme park location. So, before you make your way there, don’t forget to check out their website for specific details about the park you plan to visit, just to ensure your favorite haunt is available at your chosen location!
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre-themed maze begins operation at Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Over Texas, commencing from early September and continuing until November 3rd.
