What to know:
By Omkar Godbole (All times ET, unless the clock decides otherwise)
Well, shucks, if it ain’t Bitcoin, sittin’ pretty while the world’s a-buzz with war talk and oil prices higher than a cat in a tree. Them crypto folks are holdin’ firm, same as U.S. stock futures, while the Dollar Index and bond yields take a nap. Seems like ceasefire chatter ’tween the U.S. and Iran has folks hopin’ for a breather, though nothin’s set in stone yet.
Now, the ING folks, bless their hearts, reckon Iran’s got the upper hand with them high energy prices, so don’t go bettin’ the farm on a quick drop. And them Iranians? They’re eyein’ Trump’s peace proposal like a fox eyes a henhouse-skeptical as a cat at a dog show, according to Axios.
Meanwhile, the macro folks are singin’ a different tune. The Fed’s easin’ plans? Gone with the wind. Them rate cuts? Ain’t happenin’ this year, says the money market curve. Bad news for BTC and its risk-lovin’ cousins, but Bitcoin’s still sittin’ above $70,000 like a king on his throne. Dips? Shorter than a politician’s memory.
On the crypto front, Circle Internet’s stock took a tumble faster than a drunk on a tightrope after the Clarity Act draft hinted at clippin’ stablecoin interest wings. And Bhutan’s sellin’ off $30 million in BTC-guess they needed some pocket change. Still, Bitcoin’s holdin’ steady, like a mule on a mountain trail. Market’s got more backbone than a preacher on Sunday.
Options expiry’s comin’ up Friday, and the dynamics point to a bounce to $75,000. Keep your eyes peeled, or you’ll miss the show!
