Throughout the entire video, Kanye West fails to discuss with Taylor Swift about his usage of the term ‘b***h’ or the implication that he played a significant role in making her well-known.
Fans of Taylor Swift, or Swifties, used the video as evidence supporting her exoneration, causing an uproar on social platforms that eventually prompted a reaction from Kim.
Kim asserted that Taylor was not telling the truth and found it questionable that she chose to revive an old dispute, which at present seems rather self-beneficial considering the hardships faced by countless genuine victims.
She asserted: ‘To make things clear, the problem I had regarding the situation was solely about Taylor lying through her representative who declared, “Kanye never reached out to ask for permission…” We did indeed talk, and so I showed you all that. No one ever contested the fact that the word “b****” was used without her consent.’
Kim noted: ‘During their conversation, the song wasn’t completely written yet. However, it appears that she distorted the truth in her statement when she claimed that she declined and warned him against releasing a song with a powerful misogynistic theme, as seen in the video.’
She doubled down: ‘The lie was never about the word b****, It was always whether there was a call or not and the tone of the conversation.’
Meanwhile, during the 2016 Famous dispute, a representative for Taylor presented a contrasting account instead.
Kanye didn’t ask for Taylor’s permission to share his single Famous on her Twitter, but rather he requested it as a favor. She chose not to do so and warned him about releasing a song with such a powerful misogynistic theme. It turns out she hadn’t heard the actual line from the song, “I made that woman famous.” Taylor was left in the dark about those specific lyrics.
